Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the subject and give a basic overview, noting that the process has nine steps and ends with clothing. You also include several relevant details, such as planting in spring, harvesting in autumn, and the use of water and amine oxide. However, the account does not report the stages accurately or consistently: after cutting, crushing is step four and filtering is step five, but these are described as “fourth” and “fifthly” in a confusing order. Later, the numbering shifts further: softening is step six, spinning step seven, and weaving step eight, not the seventh, eighth, and “second last” stages stated. The claim that the fabric is “95%” ready is unsupported. A clearer overview and accurate sequence of the main transformations would make the summary more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is an attempt to organise the response with an opening, an overview, and a description of later stages. Sequencing expressions such as “Overall,” “Furthermore,” and “at last” also show an effort to guide the reader. However, progression is difficult to follow because the stages are not consistently numbered or grouped, and several ideas are crowded into long sentences. For example, the sentence beginning “According with diagram” moves from planting to harvesting, cutting, crushing, and filtering without clear sentence boundaries. The final paragraph also combines softening, spinning, weaving, and clothing in one extended sequence. Use separate paragraphs for the overview and process details, and connect each stage in order with clear, accurate transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “harvest,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “fibres,” “yarn,” and “weave,” so the reader can recognise several parts of the process. However, the range is limited and word choice or spelling errors are noticeable. “Facinated” does not express “manufactured,” while “slidely go with harvest” and “chemistry things” are imprecise or unnatural. There are also errors in “autum,” “seperate,” and “clothes” where “clothing” would be more suitable for the finished products. Repeated use of “process,” “step,” and “ended” makes the description less precise. Learn accurate process verbs and collocations, such as “is harvested,” “is crushed into pulp,” and “is woven into fabric.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the overall meaning can usually be inferred. However, the range of structures is limited, and attempts to combine several stages often produce faulty sentences. For example, “This life cycle started with some bamboo plants to completed with being clothes” has an incorrect verb pattern and an unclear construction. “Overall,There are total 9 steps” lacks appropriate punctuation and an article, while “spin (is used to makes yarn)” has an incorrect verb form. Tense and sentence structure are also inconsistent across the description. Practise writing one clear passive sentence for each stage—for example, “The bamboo is harvested in autumn, then cut into strips”—and check articles, verb forms, and punctuation.
