Student answer (Band 5.5)

The given diagram demonstrates the way in which the fabric is manufactured from bamboo. The process consist of mainly nine points begin from plant bamboo in Spring season and end it on ready clothes.

Overall, the diagram illustrates the procedure of fabric from bamboo which distribute on nine several points (plant bamboo, harvest, cut into strips and crushing srtips, filter, soften fibres, spin and weave, ready clothes). Firstly plant the bamboo plants in Spring season and harvest in Autumn season which passes through filter and crushing process and then ready clothes produced.

The process starts from plant the bamboo plants in Spring season after that harvest the plants in Autumn season then cut the plants into the strips and crush the strips until come into liquid pupl and then filter we get long fibres from liquid just add water and amine oxide to make it in soft fibre form after that spin it hard until it become a yam then weave it to make fabric after passing through all procedure clothes are ready to wear like shirts and socks.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover the main stages from planting and autumn harvesting through processing, spinning and weaving, and you correctly mention the final clothing items. The overview also identifies the process as having nine stages, which helps orient the reader. However, the overview is not fully clear: the phrase “which passes through filter and crushing process” gives an inaccurate order, since the strips are crushed before the liquid is filtered. Some details are also imprecise, such as saying the bamboo is spun “hard” and describing the clothes as “ready to wear” without clearly distinguishing the final clothing stage from fabric production. A more concise overview of the linear process, followed by accurate stage-by-stage details, would make the key features clearer and more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response follows the general sequence of the diagram, and the use of “Firstly,” “after that,” and “then” helps show progression. The reader can broadly follow the process from planting to finished clothing. However, the information is arranged in only two dense paragraphs, and the overview repeats much of the same sequence that is then described again in the final paragraph. Some links are mechanical or unclear, particularly “which passes through filter and crushing process,” where the order and reference are difficult to follow. Organise the response into a brief introduction and overview, followed by a clearly sequenced description of the stages. Use linking phrases selectively and make each sentence focus on one or two connected steps.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant process vocabulary, including “harvest,” “strips,” “liquid,” “fibres,” “spin,” and “weave,” so the reader can identify most stages. There are also attempts to describe transformation, such as “make it in soft fibre form.” However, several word choices and forms are inaccurate or unnatural: “pupl” and “yam” obscure “pulp” and “yarn,” while “nine several points” and “spin it hard” are not suitable collocations. Repetition of “process” and “plants” also limits precision. Aim for standard process verbs and accurate technical nouns, and check spelling carefully. More natural phrasing, such as “the fibres are softened” and “the yarn is woven into fabric,” would improve clarity and range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect stages in longer sentences, and the sequence is generally understandable. However, control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent. For example, “The process consist of mainly nine points begin from plant bamboo” has subject–verb agreement and verb-form problems; “after that harvest the plants” also lacks a clear grammatical subject. Articles and prepositions are often missing, as in “cut the plants into the strips” and “after passing through all procedure.” Several sentences run together without effective punctuation, especially the final sentence, which contains many stages joined by “then” and “after that.” Use a mix of shorter, complete sentences and controlled complex clauses, checking agreement, articles, and punctuation in each.
