Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
This illustration give the information how fabric is manufactured from bamboo. The bamboo is a crop, and useful for making clothes.
In the first step, bamboo plants are planted in the spring season it takes them almost one year to autumn when the crop is ready to harvest in autumn. The farmers then take it to chopper where it is cutted into strips. The bamboo strips then processed to the crushing phase, crushing of strips results into liquid pulp. This liquid pulp will be taken to filters, and filters extract long fibers from liquid. After separating the long fibers from liquid the soft fibers will be mixed with amine oxide and more water to soften the fibers. These fibers will be assembled into a form of ball called it yarn. The weaving phenomenon makes fabric from long fibers. These yarns can be knitted and clothes will be made from the bamboo.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover the main sequence from planting and harvesting through processing to fabric and clothing, and several details match the diagram, including spring planting, autumn harvesting, crushing into liquid pulp, filtering long fibres, and adding water and amine oxide. However, the report does not clearly summarise the process as a whole: there is no distinct overview identifying the progression from a seasonal crop to finished products. Some stages are also imprecise or misrepresented. The diagram shows fibres being spun into yarn, not assembled into a ball, and the final step depicts clothing rather than stating that yarns are knitted. Clarify each stage and include a concise overview to make the key features more complete and accurate.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The stages are generally presented in the correct order, and sequencing phrases such as “In the first step,” “then,” and “After separating” help the reader follow the process. The response also moves from cultivation to processing and then to the finished material and clothing. However, it is written as one paragraph, so the overall structure is not clearly signposted, and the opening does not provide a strong overview of the process. Some links are mechanical or unclear, particularly the shift from filtering to softening and then to yarn. Use a separate overview and group the stages into logical sections, while making the relationships between each stage explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a reasonable range of process vocabulary, including “harvest,” “strips,” “crushing,” “liquid pulp,” “filters,” “fibers,” and “weaving.” These terms make the general subject clear, and the response attempts more specific language such as “amine oxide.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, however: “chopper” is not the clearest term for the cutting stage, “weaving phenomenon” is unnatural, and “assembled into a form of ball called it yarn” does not accurately describe spinning. “Cutted” is also an incorrect word form. Choose precise process verbs from the diagram, such as “cut,” “filter,” “soften,” “spin,” and “weave,” and use them consistently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including the sequence “After separating the long fibers from liquid…” and a relative clause in “a ball called it yarn.” The stages remain broadly understandable, but grammatical errors are frequent enough to make some sentences awkward or unclear. For example, “This illustration give” has subject–verb disagreement, while “bamboo plants are planted … it takes them” joins clauses without suitable punctuation or a connector. “The bamboo strips then processed” is missing an auxiliary, and “called it yarn” has an incorrect clause structure. Review agreement, passive verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries. Shorter, accurately controlled sentences would help communicate the process more clearly.
