Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The diagram outlines the states of process of producing clothes with bamboo plant.
Overall, there are nine stages beginning with full of growth bamboo tree end with new t-shirts and socks. Including harvest, cutting, fillter, crush strips and spin, weave.
To being with, bamboo tress growth in spring season then humen start harvesting in autumn . Whenever the middle stage of bamboo plant cutting by machine and start to crush strips to make liquid puip then filter process to separate the long liquid fibres from liquid form.
Following this, to add water and amine oxide to make soft fiber in soften fiber stage then spin the yam to make a bondle of fibre. Later we move to the make fabric weave to make a firber design process, hence now ready to our new clothes like t-shirt and socks.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the process as having nine stages and give a broad start-to-finish overview, from growing bamboo to clothing. You also include several relevant stages, such as harvesting, crushing, filtering, softening, spinning and weaving. However, the overview is unclear and the sequence is not consistently reported: the response says “cutting” before “crush strips,” but does not clearly explain that the strips are cut before being crushed into liquid pulp, then filtered and softened. The description of filtering as separating “long liquid fibres from liquid form” misrepresents the diagram, which shows long fibres being separated from liquid. The response is also 12 words below the required minimum. Add a clearer overview and explain each stage accurately and in order.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction and overview are followed by two paragraphs describing the process. Sequencing expressions such as “To being with,” “Following this,” and “Later” help signal movement through the stages. However, progression is not always clear because several steps are compressed into long, loosely connected sentences. The overview’s list—“Including harvest, cutting, fillter, crush strips and spin, weave”—does not form a clear summary, and “Whenever” does not express the intended transition between stages. Use one paragraph for the growing and processing stages and another for fibre-to-fabric production, with accurate connectors such as “Next” and “After filtering.” This would make the sequence easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “harvesting,” “liquid pulp,” “separate,” “amine oxide,” “spin,” and “weave,” showing an attempt to describe the diagram rather than relying only on general terms. However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand: “fillter,” “puip,” “yam,” “bondle,” and “firber.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “full of growth bamboo tree” and “make a firber design process.” Choose standard process terms and check spelling carefully. For example, describe the material as “bamboo fibres,” the spun product as “yarn,” and the final stage as producing “garments.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and more extended sentences, but control is inconsistent, and errors frequently affect clarity. For example, “The diagram outlines the states of process” lacks a natural grammatical structure, while “bamboo tress growth in spring season” has no correctly formed verb phrase or article. The overview fragment beginning “Including harvest” is not a complete sentence. In the final paragraph, “to add water and amine oxide to make soft fiber in soften fiber stage” also lacks a clear subject and verb structure. Use complete sentences with a consistent present simple passive where appropriate: “The bamboo is harvested in autumn” and “The fibres are softened by adding water and amine oxide.” Check articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries.
