Student answer (Band 5.5)
The process diagram illustrates the manufacturing of bamboo fabric in different stages.
Overall, in this there was a process of making a bamboo fabric which involved nine steps. In the first step we saw how a fabric was made from bamboo, with just growing a bamboo plant and then they was converting into different beautiful accessories.
Initially,in the Spring they grew bamboo plants after that, in the Autumn season, they usually harvest the crops then there cutting occurs. After this the fourth step occur in which the crushing strips was done to made a pulp in liquid form.Furthermore, the filtration process occurs in which they separate the fibers from the liquid and add some H2O and amino oxide to softens and pure the fibres.
In the seventh step ,spinning occurs for making yarn, after this they did weave which was easily made the fabric .In the end, last step was done for making a bamboo fabric , then they made different garments

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the process as having nine stages and include several key steps, from planting and autumn harvesting through crushing, filtering, softening, spinning and weaving. This gives the reader a broadly accurate account of the sequence. However, the overview is unclear: “in this there was a process” does not summarise the main transformation, and the claim that the first step shows fabric being made is inaccurate. The final stage is finished clothing, not simply “making a bamboo fabric,” and “beautiful accessories” is not supported by the diagram. Some details are also imprecise, such as saying “there cutting occurs” rather than explaining that the harvested bamboo is cut into strips. State the overall progression clearly and report each stage precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction and overview are followed by stages in sequence, with a final sentence about the products. Sequencing expressions such as “Initially,” “After this,” “Furthermore,” and “In the seventh step” help the reader follow the process. However, the overview and first-stage explanation repeat or confuse information, and the final stages are compressed into a long sentence, making the progression less clear. Some links are mechanical, and references such as “they” in “then they made different garments” do not identify who performs the action. Use separate, clearly focused paragraphs and connect each stage without repeating the same idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “harvest,” “crushing,” “pulp,” “filtration,” “fibres,” “spinning,” and “weave,” which helps communicate the main stages. There is some attempt at more specific terminology, but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for a process description. “Beautiful accessories” is an unsupported description, “crops” is less precise than bamboo, and “amino oxide” does not match the diagram’s “amine oxide.” Phrases such as “the crushing strips was done” and “they did weave” also show limited control of natural collocations and word forms. Choose precise process verbs and nouns, and avoid adding evaluative descriptions that are not shown in the visual.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the response uses sequencing clauses to describe several stages. However, errors are frequent enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “then they was converting,” “the crushing strips was done,” and “to softens,” which show problems with subject–verb agreement, verb forms and sentence construction. Tense use also shifts between past and present (“they grew” and “the filtration process occurs”), while missing spaces after punctuation and inconsistent commas affect readability. Practise forming clear passive constructions for process descriptions, such as “the strips are crushed” and “the fibres are softened,” and check agreement and verb forms in each sentence.
