Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the process as beginning with planting bamboo and ending with clothing, and you include several central stages: harvesting, cutting, crushing, filtering, softening, spinning and weaving. However, the overview is unclear and does not clearly summarise the process’s main progression. Some details are inaccurate or incomplete: the diagram says the strips are crushed to make liquid pulp, and water and amine oxide are added to soften the fibres; your account makes the softening materials unclear. The final sentence is cut off, and the response contains 137 words, below the required 150. This limits how fully you can report the stages. To improve, give a concise overview, describe each stage accurately, and complete the final step showing the finished T-shirt and socks.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is a basic sequence, moving from planting and harvesting through fibre processing to yarn, fabric and clothing. Phrases such as “overall” and “moving on” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, the response is presented as one continuous paragraph, and the progression is sometimes difficult to follow because several stages are compressed into long, loosely connected sentences. For example, “these bamboo plant cut into pieces and crashed sripts to make liquid” combines cutting and crushing without clearly distinguishing them. The final sentence also stops abruptly. Use separate paragraphs for the overview and process details, and connect each stage with clear sequencing language such as “next,” “after filtering” and “finally.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “harvested,” “liquid,” “fibres,” “yarn” and “fabric,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the description less precise, including “crashed sripts,” “amin,” “softer fibre” and “spining machine.” The diagram does not specify a spinning machine, so this detail is also unsupported. Repetition of “make” and “use” reduces variety, while “complete t shirt and socks made” is not a natural way to describe the final products. Aim for accurate process terms and collocations, such as “crush the strips,” “separate the fibres,” “spin the fibres into yarn” and “produce finished garments.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts to link stages with longer sentences, but control of sentence structure is limited and errors are frequent enough to make some relationships unclear. For example, “the flow chart show that how fabric is manufactured” has subject–verb and clause-structure problems, while “these bamboo plant cut into pieces” lacks a correctly formed passive verb and plural agreement. Tense and article use are also inconsistent in phrases such as “that grow in spring season” and “in Autumn it will be harvested.” Punctuation is weak: sentences begin in lowercase, and full stops are often missing after stage descriptions. Practise accurate passive forms for processes (“the bamboo is harvested”) and use shorter, complete sentences before attempting more complex links.
