Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the process as making fabric from bamboo and mention several relevant stages, including planting in spring, harvesting in autumn, cutting, filtering, softening, spinning and weaving. However, the account is incomplete and sometimes inaccurate: the overview says the process starts with planting and finishes with weaving, but the diagram’s final stage shows clothing items, specifically a T-shirt and socks. Crushing is repeated, and the sequence of later stages is not reported clearly. The response also contains only 107 words, below the required 150, which limits how fully you can select and describe the main features. To strengthen the report, give a clear overview of the full start-to-finish process and explain each stage once, in order.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an opening, an overview and further process details. Sequencing words such as “First of all,” “Next” and “Then” help indicate that the diagram shows stages. However, progression is difficult to follow because the stages are repeated or presented out of order: crushing appears in two paragraphs, while the transition from softening to spinning and weaving is unclear. “Approximately” and “Initially” do not express the relationships intended, and the final sentence is disconnected from the preceding account. Use one paragraph for the overview and another to describe the stages in sequence, with accurate links such as “After this” and “Finally.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “harvest,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “fibers,” “spin” and “weave,” so the reader can recognise several parts of the diagram. However, the range is limited and some word choices or forms make the description unclear. For example, “harvest the fabric” confuses the crop with the finished product, while “yarm” and “imaking” are misspellings that obscure meaning. “Approximately” is also unsuitable for introducing a process stage, and “fabric” is repeated where “bamboo” or “fibres” would be more accurate. Build a small bank of precise process verbs and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response mainly uses short, simple statements and attempts a few sequencing structures, but grammatical control is inconsistent. The opening, “The diagram illustrate that how to produc fabric,” has subject–verb agreement and clause-structure problems. Other examples include “Start with the plant bamboo,” “Then crushed the strips,” and “in soften fibers add water,” where verb forms and sentence construction are faulty. Missing spaces after punctuation and inconsistent sentence boundaries also make the text harder to read. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, for example, “The process begins when bamboo is planted in spring.” Then check agreement, articles and verb forms in each sentence.
