Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the process as having nine stages and mention the seasonal planting and harvesting, as well as the final fabric and clothing products. However, several stages are misreported or placed in the wrong order: the strips are crushed to make liquid pulp before filtering, but your account says the fibres are softened first and later describes crushing after filtration. The overview also says the final stage is fabric production, while the diagram shows clothing items after weaving. Some details, such as the purpose of weaving being “to prevent it from loosing,” are not supported by the diagram. To strengthen the response, give a concise overview of the full sequence and describe each stage accurately, without adding unsupported explanations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has paragraph breaks and uses sequencing expressions such as “Overall,” “The fourth stage,” and “Furthermore,” so the reader can recognise that you are describing a process. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the second paragraph repeats the early stages, while the later stages are not presented in the diagram’s order. Connections such as “At fitration process…the fibres…follows by crushing” make the sequence especially unclear. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically or introduce incomplete thoughts, for example, “Followed by weaving…” A clearer structure would be an overview followed by two chronological groups of stages, with each sentence linked directly to the next step.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “harvesting,” “strips,” “fibres,” “liquid pulp,” “spin,” and “weaving,” which helps communicate the general topic. There is also some attempt to use more specific terms, such as “amine oxide.” However, inaccurate word choice and spelling sometimes make the description unclear: “plantation” is less suitable for the act of planting, “fibration” appears to mean filtration, and “linen” does not accurately describe the clothing shown. Phrases such as “production of a fabric” and “made by bamboo tree” are also awkward. Aim for precise process verbs and check spelling, word forms, and collocations so that the reader can identify each stage without guessing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a relative clause in “which consists of nine stages” and a purpose clause in “in order to make a yarn.” However, the range is limited, and many sentences contain errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, or sentence construction. Examples include “there are many process,” “the fibres is being separated,” and “it's been harvested,” which is an awkward passive form in this context. Several fragments, such as “Followed by weaving,” also prevent ideas from forming complete sentences. Punctuation and spacing around commas are inconsistent. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use passive forms consistently when describing the stages of a process.
