Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
THe diagram provide the information about how the bamboo fabric is made. There are are total 9 step we have to follow to make anything thing from the fabric.
The process started with the planting a bamboo plant in a spring season. The second step is to harvest it in the autumn. After that cut the harvested bamboo into strips and passed to next step of this process in which the strips crushed in order to make liquid pulp from it. The fifth step is some how the hectic step in which we have to filter the long threads from the liquid and dipped the threads in the anime oxide in order to soften it here the step 6 is completed. Step 7 take that soft threads and spin it to make yarn. The yarn os is used to make the fabric by tieing the thread in a specific order which is the 8th step. THe last and final step of the process is to stitch any type of garment from that fabric.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the process as having nine steps and include its seasonal opening stages, followed by processing and fabric production. However, the account does not clearly summarise the main features or give a distinct overview of the process as a whole. Some details are inaccurate or invented: the diagram says fibres are softened by adding water and amine oxide, not that they are dipped in it, and the final stage shows clothing items made from the fabric rather than a separate stitching step. The filtering stage separates long fibres from liquid, not “threads.” To improve, state the overall progression from planting to finished garments, then report each stage closely according to the diagram without adding unsupported methods.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The stages are generally presented in the correct sequence, and time markers such as “The second step” and “After that” help the reader follow the process. The response also uses a paragraph break, though the second paragraph contains nearly all the information and would benefit from clearer grouping. Some links are awkward or unclear, particularly “passed to next step” and the long sentence that combines filtering, softening, and completion of step six. Organise the description into a brief introduction and overview, followed by logically grouped stages. Use precise references such as “the fibres” and “the resulting yarn” so the connections between steps are easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “planting,” “harvest,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “filter,” “spin,” and “yarn,” which helps communicate the sequence. There is some range in describing actions, but several choices are inaccurate, informal, or misspelled: “hectic step” does not describe a technical stage, “anime oxide” misnames amine oxide, and “tieing” is not the appropriate term for weaving. “Threads” is also less precise than “fibres” at the filtering stage. Aim for accurate process terms and standard spelling, and avoid conversational phrases such as “anything thing” and “some how.” This would make the description clearer and more suitable for an academic report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and longer sentences, and the sequence can usually be understood. However, errors are frequent, especially in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “The diagram provide” should be “The diagram provides,” while “the strips crushed” needs a passive form such as “the strips are crushed.” The opening also has faulty agreement and repetition in “There are are total 9 step.” Several clauses lack a clear subject or verb, as in “After that cut the harvested bamboo,” and the sentence beginning “The fifth step is” becomes difficult to control. Practise accurate passive constructions for process descriptions and divide long sentences into shorter, complete clauses.
