Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given data illustrates a number of natural and mechanical steps required to make a bamboo fabric clothes.

Overall, it demands a number of processes to make a good bamboo fabric starting from planting the bamboo plants to cutting, crushing, filtration, softening, spinning, and weaving steps which takes a lot of time.

After planting bamboo plants in spring season they grow up to be harvested in autum season after which they are cut into strips with the help of cutting machines and those strips are then crushed to make liquid pulps.

In the next step, the crushed strips are then undergone through filtration process to separate long fibers from liquid then those fibers are then made soft by adding water and amine oxide. Then they go through spinner to make yarn, afterwards they are weaved to make a fabric and which is then used to make different types of cloths including shirts and socks.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover the main stages in the correct order, from planting and autumn harvesting through processing the fibres to weaving and making clothing. The overview also identifies the process as a sequence of natural and mechanical steps, and the final reference to shirts and socks reflects the diagram. This gives the reader a clear account of the process. However, some details are less fully or precisely reported: “cut ... with the help of cutting machines” is more specific than the diagram, which shows a saw, while “takes a lot of time” is not supported by the visual. To strengthen the response, keep the overview focused on the start and end points and the transformation from bamboo to finished products, and avoid unsupported claims.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs describing the stages in sequence. Linking expressions such as “After,” “In the next step,” and “afterwards” help the reader follow the process. This is a coherent arrangement, though the connections sometimes feel mechanical and several stages are packed into long sentences. For example, the final paragraph links filtration, softening, spinning, weaving, and clothing production in one extended chain, making the relationships harder to process. Use clearer sentence boundaries and vary the transitions; grouping the preparation stages separately from the fibre-to-fabric stages would make the progression more controlled and the referencing clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a relevant range of process vocabulary, including “harvested,” “crushed,” “filtration,” “fibers,” “spinning,” and “weaved,” so the stages are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific terms, such as “liquid pulps” and “amine oxide.” However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward: “bamboo fabric clothes,” “go through spinner,” and “different types of cloths” do not express the intended meanings naturally. Spelling is also inconsistent, as in “autum,” and the process noun “filtration” is less natural in this sentence than a verb construction. Aim for precise, conventional process language and check spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex structures, including time clauses (“After planting bamboo plants in spring season...”) and a sequence joined with “after which.” The overall meaning remains clear, but some grammatical errors recur and several sentences are not well controlled. For instance, “a bamboo fabric clothes” has an incorrect article and number relationship, while “they are then undergone through filtration process” uses an incorrect passive construction and omits an article. The long final sentence also contains a faulty connection in “weaved to make a fabric and which is then used.” Improve control of articles, passive forms, and clause linking, and divide long sentences where needed. These changes would make the process description more accurate and fluent.
