Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify several central stages, including crushing bamboo into pulp, filtering fibres, softening them with water and amine oxide, spinning yarn, and weaving fabric. However, the account is incomplete and contains important inaccuracies: the diagram shows planting in spring and harvesting in autumn, but you begin with autumn and omit planting; it does not show cutting off the outer layer or making woollen caps. The final stage is clothing, illustrated by a T-shirt and socks, rather than the broader claims about winter use. There is no clear overview of the process as a whole, and the response is below the required 150 words. To improve, summarise the full sequence accurately and focus on the diagram rather than adding unsupported uses or opinions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The stages are presented in a broadly understandable order, and linking words such as “then” help the reader follow the movement from processing fibres to making fabric. However, the response is one continuous paragraph, with no clear overview or separation between the manufacturing process and the concluding comments about bamboo’s usefulness. Repeated use of “when” and “then” makes the progression mechanical, and some links are unclear, as in “when the liquid filter the we add water.” Organise the response into a brief overview and a paragraph describing the stages in sequence. Use a wider range of accurate connectors, and avoid repeating the same stage in slightly different wording.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “liquid pulp,” “long fibres,” “amine oxide,” “yarn,” and “weave,” which helps communicate the main manufacturing steps. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are inaccurate or repetitive: “various purpose things” is vague, “woollen clothes” does not accurately describe the diagram’s fabric products, and “cut the strippped” is difficult to interpret. Spelling errors such as “fillter,” “seperated,” and “stripped” also reduce clarity. Choose precise terms from the process, such as “harvest,” “crush,” “filter,” and “finished garments,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to connect stages in longer sentences, for example by using “when” and “then,” but these structures are often faulty. Verb forms and tense are frequently inaccurate: “when the autumn season start,” “we made spin,” and “when the fibre was soften” should use consistent, appropriate forms such as “starts,” “spin,” and “is softened.” Subject–verb agreement and sentence construction also cause problems, as in “when the liquid filter the we add water.” Most sentences rely on simple clauses joined together, and punctuation is limited. Use the present simple for a process description, build shorter complete sentences, and check agreement and passive forms such as “the fibres are softened.”
