Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The given diagram demonstrates the stages how fabric is made from bamboo during different season and different method use to make goods from fabric
Overall, there are nine stages, at first plant bamboo plants during spring and at center filter process, also it processed to spin were yarn formed, at last to wearable items.
At first stage, plant bamboo plants in spring , then transfer to harvest during autumn season in second stage, in third it go through cut into strips, after the initial process go to crush strips were to make liquid pulp.
At fived stage, filter process start were it separate the long fibers from liquid, followed by six stages were soften fibres add water and anime oxide, at seven stage it spin to form yarn. At eight stage, it ready to make fabric form weave, then at last it ready to wear for men and ladies from fabric.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover the main stages and give an overview that identifies the nine-step process, seasonal planting and harvesting, and the later production of yarn and fabric. The sequence from cutting and crushing bamboo through filtering, softening, spinning and weaving is generally represented, so the response addresses the task. Some details are less fully or accurately described: the final stage shows finished clothing, specifically a T-shirt and socks, rather than simply saying the items are “ready to wear for men and ladies.” The overview also mentions the filter stage as being “at center,” which is not a meaningful summary of the process. To strengthen the report, state the broad progression clearly—from growing and harvesting bamboo, through fibre processing, to making fabric and clothing—and describe the final products without adding unsupported details about their users.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response follows the diagram’s sequence and uses basic signposts such as “At first stage,” “then,” “followed by,” and “at last.” This gives the reader a general sense of progression. However, the information is presented in three long blocks with limited paragraphing, and several transitions are awkward or unclear. For example, “after the initial process go to crush strips” does not clearly connect the cutting and crushing stages, while “at center filter process” is difficult to interpret. The repeated stage-by-stage phrasing also makes the report feel mechanical. Group the overview separately from the process details, and use clear links such as “After harvesting,” “The resulting pulp is then filtered,” and “Finally” to make the sequence easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “harvest,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “fibers,” “yarn,” and “weave,” which helps communicate the diagram’s main actions. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, making parts of the description less natural. “Different method use to make goods” is vague, and “it ready to make fabric form weave” does not express the weaving stage clearly. “Anime oxide” also misnames the chemical shown as amine oxide. Aim for precise process language and use consistent terms for the material as it changes from bamboo to pulp, fibres, yarn and fabric. This would make the account clearer without requiring more elaborate vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect stages in longer sentences, for example with “then,” “followed by,” and “after,” but control of sentence structure is uneven. Errors include missing or incorrect verbs and articles in “at first stage, plant bamboo plants” and “at seven stage it spin to form yarn,” as well as faulty clauses such as “filter process start were it separate the long fibers.” The opening sentence also lacks a clear grammatical structure. These problems sometimes make relationships between actions difficult to understand. Use complete clauses with a clear subject and verb—for example, “The bamboo is harvested in autumn” and “The fibres are softened by adding water and amine oxide.” Practising accurate passive forms would suit this process description and improve control across the report.
