Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The provided diagram illustrates the process of producing fabric from bamboo.

It is clear that manufacturing fabric is multi stage. linear process consisting of nine distinct phases, beginning with plant bamboo in spring and ending with producing cloth.

Initially, the process start with the bamboo’s are planted in the field as well as spring is the suitable season for cultivating.then when it is matured, harvested by people in autumn season. next harvested bamboos are taken into a cutting machine to cut into strips. then these cut strips are crushed to form a liquid pulp and these extracted liquid sent into a filter to separate long fibres from liquid.

Subsequently, filtered extracts with add water and amine oxide transformed into soften fibres for getting smoothness fabric.the fibres are then spum into yarn. following step is making weave to manufacturing suitable fabric and final output is come with made wearable dres like te-shirts and it is ready to supply supermarket.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover the main stages and give a clear start-to-finish account, including the seasonal planting and harvesting, the conversion of strips into pulp, fibre processing, spinning, weaving, and the final clothing products. The overview identifies a nine-stage linear process, which is an important feature. This is a strong response to the task, though some details are less fully or precisely reported: “filtered extracts with add water and amine oxide” does not clearly explain that these are added to soften the fibres, and the final stage is described as supplying supermarkets, which the diagram does not show. To make the account more complete and precise, report only what is depicted and clarify the purpose of each key treatment.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response follows the process in the correct order and uses a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, an overview, and a description of the stages. Sequencing expressions such as “Initially,” “Subsequently,” and “following step” help the reader track the stages. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and several transitions are run together or punctuated poorly, for example “cultivating.then when it is matured” and “smoothness fabric.the fibres.” The overview also begins as a sentence fragment, which interrupts the flow. Use clear sentence boundaries and group related stages into well-formed sentences; vary linking language while keeping the sequence explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a relevant range of process vocabulary, including “harvested,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “filter,” “fibres,” “yarn,” and “fabric.” These terms make the stages generally understandable, and the response attempts more specific wording than a simple list of actions. Some choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, however, such as “filtered extracts,” “getting smoothness fabric,” “making weave,” and “ready to supply supermarket.” There are also spelling or word-form slips, including “spum” and “te-shirts.” Choose standard process collocations and check spelling: for example, say fibres are softened, spun into yarn, and woven into fabric. This would make the description more precise and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a sequence with “when” and a passive construction such as “harvested by people.” However, control is uneven, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “the process start,” “the bamboo’s are planted,” and “these extracted liquid sent into a filter.” The overview, “It is clear that manufacturing fabric is multi stage. linear process,” is also not a complete, correctly punctuated sentence. Practise forming accurate passive clauses for process descriptions, such as “The bamboo is harvested” and “The pulp is filtered,” and proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
