Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the process as bamboo fabric production and include several key stages, including planting in spring, harvesting in autumn, crushing, filtering, softening, weaving, and making clothing. However, the account is incomplete and does not clearly summarise the whole sequence: spinning the fibres into yarn is only vaguely mentioned as “now to make yarm,” and the final step is not clearly distinguished. You also add unsupported details, such as washing the strips and replacing plastic with bio-fabric, while omitting a clear overview of the process from cultivation to finished products. The response is 135 words, below the required 150. To improve, report each numbered stage accurately and focus on the diagram rather than adding speculation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The stages are generally presented in the order shown, so a reader can follow the broad movement from planting to finished clothing. However, the response is one continuous paragraph and relies heavily on repeated transitions such as “now” and “step,” which makes the account sound like a list rather than a clearly organised summary. Some links between stages are also unclear: “and crush strips to make liquid pulp” follows cutting without a clear sentence connection, and the filtering and softening stages run together. Use separate paragraphs for an overview and the detailed sequence, and connect stages with varied, accurate sequencing language such as “subsequently” and “after this.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “harvest,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “fibers,” “amine oxide,” and “weave,” which helps convey the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings reduce precision, including “manufactured of fabric,” “separete,” “yarm,” and “cloths soack.” Some expressions are also vague, such as “now to make,” rather than naming the spinning stage directly. Aim to use accurate process terms and check spelling and collocations. For example, describe the material as “fabric is manufactured from bamboo,” and use “spin the fibres into yarn” and “finished garments” for the final stages.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response mainly uses short, simple statements, with little variety in sentence structure. Frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “There is 9 step is included” has incorrect agreement and structure, while “It is start from plant the bamboo” does not form a correct verb pattern. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, as in “first step ,It.” Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, such as “The process begins when bamboo is planted in spring.” Then connect related stages using accurate clauses while checking singular and plural forms.
