Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the process as beginning with bamboo plants and ending with clothing, and you report several central stages, including cutting, crushing, filtering, softening, spinning and weaving. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: the plants are planted in spring and harvested in autumn, rather than being collected in spring; the diagram specifies water and amine oxide, not “amino oxide”; and the final step shows clothing, but your description of how it follows weaving is vague. The overview is present but general, and the stages are not explained with enough precision to fully cover the process. The response is also 22 words below the required minimum. Add a little more accurate detail about the sequence and the final products.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an opening, a brief overview, and two paragraphs describing the stages. Sequencing phrases such as “to commence with,” “after that,” and “moving towards remaining information” help signal progression through the process. However, the organisation is weakened by awkward transitions and punctuation, and the middle-to-final stages are compressed into one long sequence. The diagram’s route changes direction across rows, but your account does not make the progression especially easy to follow. Use clearer paragraphing to group the growing and preparation stages separately from fibre treatment and fabric production, and use simple, accurate links such as “Next” and “Finally” rather than forcing formal transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “long fibres,” “filtration,” “yarn,” and “weave,” which helps communicate the main stages. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, making parts difficult to understand: “spine” appears to mean “spin,” “fibric” means “fabric,” and “cloths is made and manufacturing” is not a clear description. Phrases such as “crystal clear delineation” are unnatural for an IELTS process summary, while “bl aid machine” (intended as “blade machine”) is not needed because the diagram simply shows cutting. Prefer precise, familiar process terms and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect several stages in longer sentences, for example, “then this machine crush strips into liquid pulp,” and you use sequencing clauses to show order. However, these complex attempts are often faulty, and sentence boundaries and punctuation are inconsistent. Examples include “bamboo plants in spring seasson is collected,” where the verb form and agreement do not fit, and “after filtration process soften fibres is produced,” where the subject and verb do not agree. Articles and sentence structure are also often missing or unclear. Build accuracy first with short, complete sentences in the passive voice, which suits a process description: “The bamboo is harvested in autumn” and “The fibres are softened.” Then combine stages only when the grammar remains controlled.
