Student answer (Band 5.5)
The diagram illustrates how bamboo is used to manufacture fabric.
In the spring season bamboo plants are rippen and ready for cutting and the autumn season is known for harvesting bamboo. After cutting an equipment is used to cut into strips furthermore, it crushes the strips to make liquid pulp. In the fifth stage filter is applied for the separation of long fibres from liquid moreover, water and amine oxide is added to soften fibres. After processing all the materials spinner is utilized to make yarn and waste all the unecessary substance to make the significant material safe and sound. In addition to make fabric weaver is utilized to make further process easier after doing all the process from planting to harvesting, crushing strips to soften fibres and making yarn to fabric ultimately shirts and socks are maufactured. Processing bamboo is very time consuming and it is very imaculate process as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the overall subject and report several central stages, including planting and harvesting, crushing bamboo into pulp, filtering, softening the fibres, spinning yarn, weaving fabric, and producing clothing. However, the account is only partly complete and some details are unclear or unsupported. For example, bamboo is described as “ripen and ready for cutting” in spring, whereas the diagram shows planting in spring and harvesting in autumn. The claim that unwanted material is wasted to make the product “safe and sound,” and the comment that the process is “very time consuming” and “imaculate,” are not shown. A clearer overview of the process as a sequence from cultivation to finished garments, followed by accurate descriptions of the main stages, would make the summary more fully relevant and developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response follows the broad order of the process, and sequencing expressions such as “In the fifth stage” and “ultimately” help the reader recognise some progression. However, most information is compressed into one paragraph, and the long sentences make the stages difficult to distinguish. Connectors such as “furthermore,” “moreover,” and “In addition” are sometimes used mechanically rather than to show a precise relationship. The final sentence also shifts from describing the diagram to judging the process, which weakens the progression. Organise the response into a brief introduction and overview, then a clearly sequenced description of the stages; use transitions only where they clarify how one stage leads to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “harvesting,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “fibres,” “yarn,” and “fabric,” which helps convey the subject. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing a diagram. “Equipment is used to cut into strips” is vague, while “spinner is utilized” and “weaver is utilized” do not name the actions as clearly as the diagram’s verbs, “spin” and “weave.” There are also spelling errors, including “rippen,” “unecessary,” “maufactured,” and “imaculate.” Prefer precise process verbs and check spelling; this will make the account clearer and more natural without relying on awkward phrases such as “safe and sound.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts to combine stages in longer sentences, but control is uneven, and errors sometimes make relationships between actions unclear. For example, “After cutting an equipment is used to cut into strips furthermore, it crushes the strips” has an unclear subject and faulty punctuation between clauses. In “water and amine oxide is added,” the verb does not agree with the compound subject. The sentence beginning “After processing all the materials spinner is utilized” also lacks clear article use and sentence structure. Most of the response relies on linked clauses rather than a controlled range of sentence patterns. Use direct, complete sentences with a clear subject for each stage, and check agreement, articles, and punctuation when joining clauses.
