Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The following diagram depicts that how clothes are produced with the help of bamboo. The total procedure consists of nine stages. It begins with the plantation of bamboo trees and final at the manufacturing of clothes like t-shirts,socks etc.
In the beginning farmers farming the bamboo trees and provide them feed and fertilizers for proper growth of bamboos. After this stage bamboos are ready for harvesting than farmers harvest the bamboo and cut into different strips. At the fourth stage strips are crushing for make the liquid pulp after this stage workers filter the liquid and separate the long fibres.
Moreover,at the sixth stage water and amine oxide added in fibres for obtain the soften fibres. After this, soften fibres convert into the spin of thread and weave to make the fabric. At the final stage many types of fabrics are used for making the different types of clothing like socks, shirts and underwear.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the process as having nine stages and give its broad direction, from planting bamboo to finished clothing. Several central steps are also included, such as harvesting, cutting, crushing, filtering, softening, spinning and weaving. However, the account is only partially complete: the overview is brief, and the final stages are not clearly distinguished. The diagram shows that spinning produces yarn, weaving produces fabric, and the last step shows clothing; your phrase “soften fibres convert into the spin of thread” blurs these stages. You also add unsupported details about feeding and fertilising the plants and making underwear. The response is three words below the required minimum, so it needs a little more relevant description. A clearer overview and accurate coverage of each stage would strengthen it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a generally understandable sequence, moving from planting and harvesting through processing to clothing. The opening gives a basic overview, and phrases such as “After this stage” and “At the final stage” help signal progression. The paragraphing into an introduction and process description is also appropriate. However, most of the stages are compressed into one long paragraph, and transitions are sometimes mechanical or unclear: “After this stage” is repeated, while the relationship between spinning, weaving and making fabric is not clearly expressed. The sentence beginning “Moreover” does not mark a distinct contrast or addition particularly well. Grouping the stages into clearer phases and using more precise links between them would make the progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “harvesting,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “filter,” “fibres,” “weave” and “fabric,” which helps communicate the main subject. There is also some attempt to vary wording, for example “plantation” and “manufacturing.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “provide them feed,” “for obtain the soften fibres,” and “convert into the spin of thread.” “Farmers farming” is repetitive, and “different types of fabrics” is not supported by the diagram, which shows one fabric-making process. Choose precise process verbs and natural combinations, such as “the fibres are softened” and “spun into yarn.” This would make the description clearer and more appropriate to an academic process report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect stages using subordinate clauses and time expressions, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, articles, agreement and sentence construction. For example, “depicts that how” has an unnecessary conjunction, “farmers farming” lacks a correctly formed verb, and “strips are crushing” uses the wrong passive form. In “water and amine oxide added,” the passive auxiliary is missing; “soften fibres convert” also needs a suitable verb form and article. Several sentences run together without spaces after full stops, which affects punctuation. Practise accurate passive constructions for process descriptions, such as “the strips are crushed” and “the fibres are softened,” and check each sentence for a complete verb.
