Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this moder era, people are getting more liekly to wear modern and fashionable clothes. Billions of people wearing fashionable clothes in their daily life. A certain assemblage of people reckons that the people dress today are influenced by global fashion trends. In my opinion, the global fashion has both positive and negative development and therrer arer profuse reasons to brace them.

To commence with, the global fashion has great influence on people's lives from phones and apps, as people see the same clothes on instagram and tick-tok. Another reason is that, when celebrities and famous people wear something, then everyone wants to copy them.

On the one hand, the first and foremost reason why it has positive development is that people can do fun and have choices. To be specific, it is easy for people and anyone to try new styles and it is also cheap and express themselves. Another perk of this phenomenon is that people can learn about culture and traditions. For instance, if people try different clothes from distinct countries, they came to know about the tradition and culture of the country.

On the other hand, the negative development of this tendency is that people are losing tradition. For examples, if people are more likely to wear foreign clothes, then people might stop wearing their country's clothes, as a result, the traditional shops and traditional bussinesmen might face dwindle in their bussines. Furthermore, people looks are also getting same, all people around the world used to wear modern clothes and all are becoming same. In addition, the pollution also surged due to cheap clothes. As, cheap material is used in exported and modern clothes.

In conclusion, there are several positives of global fashion on people's lives. However, this also has some negatives affets associated with it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you explain how social media and celebrities spread fashion, and you discuss positive and negative effects. Your position—that global fashion has both benefits and drawbacks—is clear, and relevant examples include trying styles from other countries and the impact on traditional businesses. However, the explanation of how fashion becomes influential is brief, and some effects are asserted rather than developed. For example, the claim that fashion is “cheap and express themselves” is unclear, while the point about pollution would be stronger with an explanation of how low-cost clothing production contributes to it. Develop each main idea with a clearer cause, consequence, or specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on the sources of influence, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” helps readers follow the contrast. However, some linking is mechanical, and the opening phrase “To commence with” does not clearly signal the relationship between the influence paragraph and the evaluation. Connections within paragraphs could also be clearer: the ideas about tradition, businesses, sameness, and pollution are listed without enough explanation of how they relate. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect each point with clear cause-and-effect links and references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “celebrities,” “tradition,” and “pollution,” and you attempt less common expressions such as “distinct countries.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make meaning unclear. For instance, “a certain assemblage of people” is unnatural in this context, “brace them” does not express the intended idea, and “traditional businessmen might face dwindle” is not an appropriate phrase. There are also spelling errors such as “moder,” “therrer,” and “bussines.” Aim for precise, natural combinations, and proofread carefully; a smaller set of accurately used topic-specific terms would make the argument clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if people try different clothes from distinct countries” and a result clause beginning “as a result.” These attempts show some range, but errors in sentence formation and agreement remain, and several sentences are incomplete or awkwardly constructed. “Billions of people wearing fashionable clothes” lacks a finite verb, while “people looks are also getting same” has problems with agreement and sentence structure. In “it is easy for people and anyone to try new styles and it is also cheap and express themselves,” the clauses do not connect grammatically. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement, articles, and punctuation in longer sentences.
