Student answer (Band 5.5)
It has been observed that global fashion trends has become increasingly common in modern society. Although, some people believe that the way people dress today are influenced by global fashion trends and it has strong influence on people lives. From my prospective this both positive and negative development. In this essay, i will present evidence in support of my stand with relevant examples.
To begin with, the main reason to justify my stand is that due to strong influence of global fashion trends, many communities have lost their traditional and cultural identity. This is because our younger generation is influenced by western culture and they love to follow western culture and tradition . For instance, our younger generation love to wear western colthes rather than our traditional attire. As a result , we are going to lose our own identity. Global fashion become such a strong influence on people's lives due to globalization of society and easily access of social media. These are some of the negative development of global fashion trends.
In contrast, global fashion trends also have some postive impact in the society. The underlying reason is that global fashion trends helps younger to learn different types of culture that is follow in different parts of the world. For example , people of our society get opportunites to perform in international platforms. One girl from mithila community won miss well fareness recently this is the benefit of global fashion trends. It provides alot of opportunities to pursue a career in fashion industry.
In conlcusion, It is true that global fashion trends have both positive and negative impact in the society . The main reason behind this is that it also provides an opportunity to the people and due to this people also lose it's cultural identity. As far as i am concerned , global fashion influenc is both positive and negative development for the society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions by giving reasons for fashion’s influence and presenting it as having positive and negative effects. The discussion of social media and globalisation begins to explain how trends spread, while the examples of traditional clothing and a fashion-industry opportunity support your two-sided view. However, the explanation of how fashion became influential is brief, and the examples are not developed enough to show their significance clearly. Your position is also somewhat uncertain: you call the development both positive and negative, but do not explain which effect you consider more important or under what conditions. To strengthen the response, develop the mechanisms of influence and explain each example more fully. The response meets the stated length requirement; 21 words copied from the task prompt were excluded from the count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for negative and positive effects, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “In contrast,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the shift between points. However, connections within paragraphs are sometimes mechanical, and some ideas are placed together without a clear link. For example, the paragraph about cultural identity moves from traditional clothing to globalisation and social media without explaining how these causes connect. The conclusion largely repeats the introduction rather than drawing the discussion together. Use linking phrases to show cause and effect more precisely, and make each paragraph progress from a main point to explanation and a relevant example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “traditional and cultural identity,” “global fashion trends,” and “international platforms,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “underlying reason.” However, the range is limited by repeated wording, especially “global fashion trends,” “influence,” and “younger generation.” Several inaccurate word choices or collocations also reduce precision, such as “easily access of social media,” “positive impact in the society,” and “perform in international platforms.” Spelling errors, including “colthes,” “postive,” and “opportunites,” are noticeable and can distract the reader. Build a wider set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling carefully; more precise wording would make your ideas clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “This is because” and a contrast introduced by “Although.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur in basic sentence patterns as well as longer structures. For example, “trends has become” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “the way people dress today are influenced” does not agree in number. The opening “Although” clause is left without a properly connected main clause, and “From my prospective this both positive and negative development” is missing grammatical elements. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly with “i” and spaces before punctuation. Practise accurate agreement, complete clause structures, and articles before adding more complex sentences.
