Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You attempt to address both questions by mentioning possible influences, such as brands publicising their products and importing clothes, and by identifying positive and negative effects. However, the explanation of how global fashion became influential is unclear and only briefly developed; the response does not explain the role of media, online platforms, or international communication. Your view on whether this is positive or negative is also difficult to identify, as the essay lists advantages and disadvantages without reaching a clear judgement. Examples such as employment and parental disapproval are relevant but need explanation. The response is 227 words, below the 250-word minimum; 11 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop a clear position and support each main point with a specific explanation or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response around positive and negative effects, and phrases such as “For instance” and “Another disadvantage” signal examples and a new point. However, the ideas do not build in a clear sequence: the discussion moves from publicity to imports, employment, stage performances, parental disapproval, and pricing without explaining how these points connect. There are no clear paragraph breaks to separate the explanation of global influence from the evaluation of its effects. Some linking is repetitive or awkward, and the final sentences repeat the idea that fashion is part of daily life rather than drawing the argument together. Use distinct paragraphs, group related points, and make the links between cause, effect, and your opinion explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “employment,” “overpricing,” and “middle-class customers,” which helps communicate the general subject. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “enormous employment” and “stage performances,” but some combinations are unnatural or unclear, and several words are repeated, particularly “fashion” and “trends.” Spelling errors such as “intrested,” “ocassions,” and “stratgeist” reduce accuracy, while phrases like “overfashioned clothes” and “fashion holics” are not suitable in this context. Build a more precise range for discussing influence, such as “international brands,” “social media promotion,” and “consumer behaviour,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response mainly uses short, simple statements and attempts a few longer structures, including “In the name of fashion they are doing weird things.” However, errors in basic sentence patterns and agreement are frequent enough to make some relationships unclear. For example, “fashion are essential part” and “The way people dress today are influenced” have agreement problems, while “every ocassions people doing shopping” lacks a correctly formed verb phrase. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “In conclusion The global fashion trends…” and the run-together opening sentences. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete clauses before adding more complex structures. Careful punctuation and proofreading would also make the argument easier to follow.
