Student answer (Band 6.0)

Whether international vogue trends has influenced the way humankind wear clothes these days and or not has become a matter of discussion. I firmly believe it has more advantages like exploring and getting to know different cultures but doing such can put strain of the pockets of the people.

On the one hand, when we wear clothing from different countries we get to know about the roots of that places roots. Nowadays due of use of social media like Facebook, instagram etc. individuals can explore and mix those thing in their dressing style and also what they mean. For example, brands like Sabyasachi which was famous is India now collaborate with other brand and mix indian embroideries with the international brand he works. This is people around the globe got to know about the different styles of fashion and also it can collaborated with others. Thus, people are not restricting themselves instead they are exploring worldwide fashion.

On the other hand, humans have to pay heavily if they are importing something from other countries and this implies on clothes as well. In other words, when people want to try different brands from other parts of globe than they have to pay extra then they usually pay for similar type in their country.

Wearing expensive brand like Gucci in India as traders have to pay heavy inport duties and eventually the amount is recovered from the customers. Hence, wearing imported brands are heavy on the pocket.

To conclude, there is no dichotomy in saying that global fashion has merits like giving an insight about the countries authentic values but it is not far away from demerit as these are expensive to afford. I strongly believe boons outweighs the banes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: social media and international brand collaborations are offered as reasons global fashion spreads, and you present a clear view that its benefits outweigh the cost disadvantage. The examples of Sabyasachi and Gucci in India help make the discussion relevant. However, the explanation of how trends become influential is narrower than the question invites: social media is mentioned, but its role in shaping choices could be explained more fully, and the brand example is difficult to follow. The cultural benefit is also asserted more than demonstrated. Develop each main point with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation and make the example directly show how global trends affect everyday clothing choices.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from cultural exchange to expense is easy to identify, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand” and “To conclude” help guide the reader. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Thus, people are not restricting themselves instead they are exploring worldwide fashion” does not clearly follow from the preceding example, and “This is people around the globe got to know” makes the relationship between ideas difficult to track. The conclusion repeats the benefits-and-costs contrast without adding much synthesis. Use clearer referencing and connect each example explicitly to its paragraph’s main claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range for the topic, including terms such as “global fashion,” “embroideries,” “import duties,” “authentic values” and “dichotomy.” These attempts at less common vocabulary show ambition, and the overall meaning is generally understandable. Some choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, however: “put strain of the pockets,” “famous is India,” “heavy on the pocket” and “boons outweighs the banes” reduce precision. There are also spelling and capitalisation slips, including “instagram,” “indian” and “inport.” Aim for natural collocations rather than ornate expressions, and check spelling and proper nouns. More precise wording would make the argument sound clearer and more controlled.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “when,” “if” and “as,” and the overall message can usually be understood. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction. For example, “Whether international vogue trends has influenced” has a subject–verb agreement problem and an awkward question structure; “when people want to try … than they have to pay” uses an incorrect conditional connector; and “boons outweighs” has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence beginning “This is people around the globe got to know” is also structurally unclear. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them, and check agreement and verb forms during revision.
