Student answer (Band 5.5)

We are living in modern world where everyone wants to look smart and handsome. There are many people dress thereselves obssesed from global suiting trends. I will discuss both situations positive and negative in forthcoming paragraphs and will give own opinion.

To commence with, nowadays individuals like to dress up according to latest age. Moreover, there is more ease to finding latest articles because we can get each and everything by just one click on websites. To explicate it, mankind see modern inventions and new styles published by famous artistes and inflencers.A clear example of this, a survey revealed in 2020 that about ten thousands piece of jacket were sold that was wore by a well known blockbuster hero Sharukh Khan. As a result, we can say without no worry that people follows trends.

On the other hand, fashionable articles are mostly expensive than those of clothes that are least popular. In addtion to, company charges more and more money by selling the trendy fabrics and mostly humans do not posses money to spend on these products to enhance their personality. To epitome with, a research by the British scholar Jack Tonny created a shopping list of trendy items that were sold world wide were few due to over priced due to cost of these suits people usually ignore them. Therefore, the overall ratio is quite small of purchasing.

To conclude with, although hype of trendy dresses is higher yet it is widely ignored by those masses who are price concious. I also believe that it is a negative thinking to wear clothes according to other. According to my point of view, wearing should be comfortable rather than a faishionable or being trendy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions by explaining that online access, celebrities and media help spread fashion, and by giving a negative view based on cost and pressure to follow others. Your position is clearest in the conclusion, where you say clothing should be comfortable rather than fashionable. However, the explanation of how global fashion became influential is only partly developed: the example about a jacket worn by Shah Rukh Khan suggests celebrity influence, but the link to global trends could be clearer. The discussion of cost also does not fully explain whether this makes fashion a negative development for society overall. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation and a relevant, credible example, and state your position more directly in the introduction.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different points, and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps the reader distinguish the explanation of fashion’s spread from the concern about expense. You also use signposts such as “To commence with,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude with.” However, some links feel mechanical, and the progression within paragraphs is not always clear. For example, the shopping-list research is introduced with “To epitome with,” but its connection to the claim that people ignore expensive items is difficult to follow. Use simpler, accurate transitions and make each paragraph’s sequence explicit: point, explanation, example, and link back to your view.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “latest articles,” “influencers,” “trendy fabrics,” and “price conscious.” This gives you some means of discussing fashion and its costs. However, the range is limited by repeated use of general words such as “people,” “clothes,” and “trendy,” while several inaccurate word choices or collocations make ideas harder to understand. Examples include “dress thereselves obssesed from,” “latest age,” and “To epitome with.” Spelling errors such as “addtion,” “posses,” and “faishionable” are also noticeable. Build a more precise vocabulary for influence and consumer behaviour, and check spelling and collocations so your intended meaning is consistently clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple sentences and attempts at longer structures, including a relative clause in “a jacket that was wore by a well known blockbuster hero” and a concession in “although hype of trendy dresses is higher yet…”. However, complex sentences are often not controlled, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction occur throughout. For example, “people follows trends” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “a survey revealed… ten thousands piece… were sold” contains problems with number and agreement. The opening also has incomplete or awkward sentence construction. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, then check verb forms, singular/plural nouns and articles.
