Student answer (Band 6.5)
There is no denying the fact that, in today's generation global fashion trends influence the way people dress and choose their appearance. People hate to be degraded and compared with other in terms of fashion as they doesn't want to be called old-fashioned.
Overall, this generation where social media and network media has a strong hand in influencing the public, fashion trends is one of the primary aspect that bothers them regarding their appearances. In contrast, many influencers and celebrities influence the normal public to change their lifestyle in the ways suggested by them.
In our daily life many people try different fashion trends that they are fascinated to, normal people encounter these trends with which they are fascinated and are attracted towards new fashion that may make them appear extraordinary. The primary reason to influence people's lives for global fashion is social media and entertainment industry, celebrities and influencers who are ties up with different organizations as their brand ambassador advertise their look and fashion that influence the people by instantly transforming their thoughts and ideas towards fashion. In my opinion, this would be a positive as well as negative development, positive because of this generation's ideology towards fashion and negative as it somehow disrespects the older culture and tradition.
For an example, people wear torn jeans and half sized clothes influenced by global fashion brands which makes them look unusual sometimes. They prioritize comparison with other instead of their own satisfaction. In conclusion, global fashion trends evolved with generation but lacks culture and tradition, which are the most important aspects to represent our history.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the influence of global fashion and the evaluation of this trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention social media and celebrities as drivers, the explanation remains repetitive. The discussion on whether it is positive or negative is brief and lacks depth; for instance, the claim that it 'disrespects older culture' is mentioned but not sufficiently explored or supported with a clear, logical argument. To improve, ensure each body paragraph focuses on a distinct, well-explained point with more specific examples rather than general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed. Some transitions are mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'influence' and 'fashion'. While there is an attempt to use cohesive devices, the connection between the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion is not always smooth. The ideas within paragraphs sometimes circle back to the same point rather than progressing logically. Using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'conversely') would help improve the overall structure and flow of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely heavily on basic terms like 'influence', 'fashion', and 'people'. There are some awkward collocations, such as 'network media' and 'ties up with', which sound unnatural. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more sophisticated vocabulary and idiomatic expressions related to the topic, such as 'consumer culture', 'homogenisation', or 'cultural identity'. Focus on using words that accurately convey your intended meaning rather than repeating the same terms throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('they doesn't want', 'fashion trends is one of the primary aspect') and awkward phrasing ('fascinated to', 'prioritize comparison with other'). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are run-on or lack necessary commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for small errors that occur when attempting more complex sentence structures. Increasing the variety of sentence types will also help demonstrate better grammatical control.
