Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 151 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay addresses both parts of the prompt—explaining the influence of global fashion and providing an opinion on whether it is positive or negative—the arguments are underdeveloped and repetitive. The explanation of how social media influences fashion is brief, and the justification for why it is a positive development is limited to a single, underdeveloped point about cultural exchange. To improve, you must expand your paragraphs with more detailed examples and deeper analysis to meet the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into short, disjointed paragraphs. While there is a basic attempt at logical progression, the transitions between ideas are mechanical and sometimes missing. For example, the jump between the second and third paragraphs is abrupt. The use of cohesive devices is limited and repetitive (e.g., 'In addition', 'For example'). To achieve a higher score, you should focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that flows logically into the next, creating a more cohesive argument throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on common, repetitive terms such as 'influenced', 'trend', and 'positive'. There are also minor errors in word choice and form, such as 'social medias' (which should be 'social media') and 'fashion designer' (when referring to an influencer). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'globalization', 'cultural homogenization', or 'digital platforms', and ensure you use words in their correct grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('global fashion influencing' instead of 'influences'), missing articles ('Kylie is one of the popular fashion designer'), and punctuation errors (capitalization at the start of sentences). The sentence structures are generally basic. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and varying your sentence structure by using more complex clauses to express your ideas more accurately.
