Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 130 words. Consequently, the development of ideas is severely limited. While you identify the influence of social media and the economic disparity caused by fashion, these points are not sufficiently expanded or supported with relevant examples. The response addresses the prompt's two questions, but the lack of depth and the significant under-length penalty prevent a higher score. To improve, you must dedicate more time to planning and expanding each paragraph with detailed explanations and concrete examples to meet the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction that paraphrases the prompt effectively, and the body paragraphs are disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is minimal and often inaccurate, such as the abrupt transition between the influence of social media and the issue of poverty. Paragraphing is not used effectively to separate distinct ideas, which makes the progression of your argument difficult to follow. To improve, focus on using transition words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast' to link your sentences and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'people' and 'fashion'. There are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'add' instead of 'ads', 'know a days' instead of 'nowadays', and 'shffering' instead of 'suffering'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To achieve a higher band score, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise, topic-specific terms related to consumerism, socio-economic impacts, and global trends, while also paying closer attention to spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'all individual are influence'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper punctuation, such as the stray period in the first paragraph. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and pluralization, before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading your work for basic errors like 'peoples' vs 'people' will also help improve your accuracy.
