Student answer (Band 6.0)
A significant change in the fashion trends has been seen in the recent years, in addition these trends has both positive and negative influence on individuals lives.
I support the ides that keeping up with the fashion trends is necessary in the era we are living in. Let me put my example that I recently came across a dress that was trending such that, I was enchanted the way it was tailored and within few days I saw a bunch of other influencer wearing the same outfit and it made me want it even more, that after, a couple of days I bought it because of its vogue therefore keeping up with the trend is more about the craze.
To further illustrate this point about its negative impact on individuals is that, a considerable change has been seen where people are choosing to look more expensive and stylish rather than what they can afford. For instance those who can not meet these trends are left with the feeling of lacking in life, furthermore these trends peaks the prices even more. Moreover, now every other brand is competing and thus it has effected the quality of the product.
In conclusion, both opinions matter equally but I would support the latter option because not every individual can afford the expensive clothing and in keeping up with the trends one is

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay addresses both parts of the prompt—the influence of fashion and whether it is positive or negative—the arguments are underdeveloped. The conclusion is incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence, which prevents a clear final position from being established. To improve, you must expand on your examples and ensure that your arguments are fully explored and logically concluded. The current length and the unfinished nature of the text limit the depth of your analysis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay uses some cohesive devices such as 'to further illustrate' and 'in conclusion', but the flow is often disrupted by awkward phrasing and grammatical errors. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is incomplete, which hinders the overall logical progression. The connection between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the lack of a finished conclusion makes the structure feel disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, complete structure that supports your main argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use some relevant terms like 'vogue', 'influencer', and 'tailored', but there are also instances of word-choice errors, such as 'these trends peaks the prices' (should be 'increase' or 'drive up') and 'it has effected the quality' (should be 'affected'). The range is somewhat limited, and the repetition of basic structures makes the writing feel less sophisticated. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. Frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, such as 'these trends has' and 'these trends peaks', detract from the clarity of your writing. Additionally, there are punctuation issues and awkward sentence constructions that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on mastering basic grammatical rules, particularly verb agreement and tense consistency, while also attempting more complex sentence forms with greater accuracy.
