Student answer (Band 6.0)
The controversy surrounding the aspects of the way people dress today are influenced by world wide fashion trends which always has been the a topic of discussion, has now become a fever pitch in society.
Analyzing the statement, global fashion has now become such a strong influence in peoples lives. People dress up themselves according to global fashion. The reason is that people follow there idols and dress there selves according them.
First and foremost , people view them online and live in there concerts etc.... The designers held special events and shows to promote global fashion. For instance last month in Pakistan (KRACHI) there was a fashion show in which the designers promote the global fashion. Global fashion has both negative and positive development in our society.
However, one of the main underlying reason is that in many religions like Islam, Hindu and Sikh etc.... fashions are not allowed for women. And if we look at fashion trends mostly women apply fashions on there selves which is prohibted in many religions as mentioned. Another stricking factor is that global fashion has a deep impact on peoples lives. People follow the fashion trends and apply them on themselves. In addition it is pertinent to mention that global fashion is now become a part of the people lives. Especially in rich countries everyone third person is now a part of global fashion.
In conclusion, one can reach the gist that the benefits of global fashion a re indeed too dire to ignore, but i believe that global fashion has to create some limits so other people can also relate to it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, but the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you identify reasons for the influence of global fashion (idols, media, events), the explanation regarding religious restrictions is somewhat tangential and not clearly linked to the core question of why fashion has become influential. The position on whether this is positive or negative is mentioned but remains underdeveloped; you state it has both aspects but do not provide a balanced, well-supported argument. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, clearly explained point that directly answers the prompt's specific questions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow between ideas is often disjointed. Transitions such as 'First and foremost' and 'However' are used, but the connection between sentences is frequently weak. For example, the transition from discussing fashion shows to religious prohibitions is abrupt and lacks a cohesive link. Additionally, the use of referencing is sometimes unclear, and the concluding sentence is vague, failing to summarize the main points effectively. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There is significant repetition of phrases like 'global fashion' and 'apply them on themselves'. You attempt some topic-specific vocabulary (e.g., 'designers', 'trends'), but there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'fever pitch in society' used incorrectly and 'dire to ignore' which does not fit the context. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of synonyms and more natural collocations to express your ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'aspects... are influenced', 'global fashion is now become'), incorrect pronoun usage ('dress there selves'), and spelling errors ('there' instead of 'their', 'stricking' instead of 'striking'). The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of possessive adjectives. Proofreading for common errors like 'there/their' and 'its/it is' will also help improve your accuracy.
