Student answer (Band 6.0)

I think that it is a positive and also a negative development. Firstly, we talk about the positive development through this the people would get to know about the fashion trends taking place globally and than this would be enhance the knowledge in them about the fashions and after this the people could get to know about how to dress up yourselves and also they could get to know about the legendary color combos that would like to wear on them. Through this the people would know about the dressing sense they have to accommodate in their lives to look presentable.

And after i would like to talk about the negative development. The first point I noticed is that people spend most of their money on that suits which they could get cheap but due to famous person worn it they pay high money and this would be called such type of wastage of money. And in many people it affected too much that they does not have enough money to eat but they are spending highly amount on clothing just because it is a famous brand or suit and if they does not have enough money they could also break the law and though about the second way to earn which could increases the ratio of crime in that country or city.

There is a example and experience of life that one of my friends was very found in fashion and he purchased any trending fashion one day he dis not have enough money to buy a baggy jeans which was on the top trending and his parents also decided not to give him money and due to shortage of money he stole belongings of his mother and sold it at cheap price to the market and when his parents knew about him his father beat very much.

And i would like to say that now a days nobody fashion to look beautiful they just wanted to show that how much money they have.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the influence of global fashion and providing a balanced view on whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. The positive aspect is limited to 'knowing trends,' and the negative aspect relies on a single, extreme anecdote about theft. To achieve a higher band, you should provide more nuanced arguments, such as the environmental impact of fast fashion or the psychological pressure of social media, rather than relying on a single personal story. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack depth and academic maturity.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and repetitive. Phrases like 'And after i would like to talk about' and 'Through this the people' are used to link ideas, but they often feel forced or unnatural. There is a lack of sophisticated transition words to connect arguments logically. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition from financial wastage to criminal activity is abrupt and lacks a smooth logical flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'people', 'money', and 'fashion'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'legendary color combos', 'very found in fashion', and 'beat very much'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To improve, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'consumerism', 'socio-economic pressure', or 'aesthetic appeal', and focus on using words in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('he does not have', 'it increases the ratio'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, making them difficult to parse. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that your verb tenses and pluralisation are consistent throughout the text.
