Student answer (Band 5.0)

The fashion trend is influenced by the brands or clothing companies in their own ways. but the basic technique was marking in different platforms like billboard, social media etc. in this era, this technique become old and people did not show interest anymore because the trend is totally change. in the past the follow the culture and the fashion according to their regions where they lived. according to my point of view, in my country people like to dress shalwar Qameez because this is our national dress but now mostly young generation change their dressing sense just because of global fashion trend.

the global fashion trend is more effective to influence the people lives to their fashion sense. it may have a positive development or negative jut according to different culture of the different countries. in some countries bold fashion is not much developed and many countries have. I think it have a great positive development in world. people dresses are world wide same and this thing make a feelings of a unity for the whole nations. we cannot judge the people according to their dress in this era. its make the nations more similar with each other.

in the past the dress culture are too different from each other and this thing make a difference from each other. but now global fashion changes that culture. but in some countries like Afghanistan and India, the people of these country did not follow the global fashion trend and they can be recognize according to their fashion perspective in all over the world. i think the world have to change according to global fashion trends. because we are all same and should be like like same, their should be not any difference about all over the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the influence of global fashion and the evaluation of this trend. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention social media and cultural shifts, the arguments remain superficial. For instance, the claim that global fashion creates 'unity' is stated but not sufficiently explored or supported with concrete examples. The position is clear, but the lack of depth in explaining the 'how' and the 'why' prevents a higher score. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by detailed explanation and a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas; sentences often feel disjointed, such as the transition between the discussion of marketing and the shift in cultural dress. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the progression of ideas is repetitive, particularly in the final paragraph where the argument about 'being the same' is restated without adding new information. Using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') would help improve the flow and logical progression of your arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive. You rely on simple terms like 'good', 'change', and 'different' throughout the text. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'the fashion trend is influenced by the brands... in their own ways' and 'bold fashion is not much developed'. Some phrasing is unnatural, which occasionally makes the meaning slightly opaque. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'globalization', 'cultural identity', 'homogenization', or 'consumer behavior', and focus on using words in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'this technique become old', 'the dress culture are'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, and punctuation is often misused or missing. While you attempt some complex ideas, the lack of control over basic grammar limits the clarity of your writing. Focusing on sentence construction, ensuring subjects and verbs agree, and proofreading for basic punctuation errors will significantly improve your score.
