Student answer (Band 5.0)
Many aspects of the way people wear today are influenced by global fashion trends because today everyone is on social media that's why global fashion become such a strong influence on people's lives. This essay will discuss both views rather it is a positive or negative development.
First and foremost, most of the people wear something which is trending on the market because it make them feel confident and happy. Today, everyone use smart phones which connect them globally which help them to wear some thing which is on trend. It also show their status of wealth. For instance, in recent years people did not know about the Western dress but when they saw it on social media it become trend and now everybody wear it because they like it and also it is on trend.
On the other hand, there are many negative impact of it people forget about their traditional clothes they do not like to wear that clothes because they are not in trend. Traditional clothes have significant impact on our culture if people want to preserve their tradition it is very important to wear traditional clothes. For example, if people stop wearing their traditional clothes and just follow the trend they lost their culture.
In my opinion, it is a positive development because when ever someone wear trending clothes it makes them happy and they feel good and confident.
In conclusion, it make them feel good and confident when they wear trending clothes rather then old fashioned clothes. However, doing this cause problems such as loss of culture.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the influence of global fashion and whether it is a positive or negative development. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding social media and cultural loss are relevant but remain superficial. For instance, the explanation of why social media influences fashion is repetitive, and the discussion on traditional clothing lacks depth. The position is clear, but the supporting points are not fully extended. To improve, you should provide more specific examples or logical reasoning to explain the 'why' and 'how' behind your points, rather than simply stating them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes repetitive. Phrases like 'First and foremost' and 'On the other hand' are used, but the internal flow between sentences is often disjointed. For example, the transition between the influence of smartphones and the status of wealth is abrupt. Additionally, referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'it' in the conclusion, which makes the connection to previous ideas slightly ambiguous. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring clear logical progression between sentences would enhance the coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. You rely on simple, repetitive language such as 'good', 'happy', and 'trending'. There are also some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'trending on the market' (instead of 'trending in the fashion industry') and 'Western dress' (which is vague). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or topic-specific vocabulary prevents a higher score. To improve, try to incorporate more precise terminology related to global trends, cultural identity, and social influence, and avoid repeating the same adjectives throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('everyone use', 'it make', 'it show'), missing articles, and incorrect pluralisation ('that clothes'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with run-on sentences where clauses are joined without proper conjunctions or punctuation. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of basic grammatical rules. Focusing on sentence boundaries and verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
