Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address both parts of the prompt—the influence of global fashion and your opinion on it—the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. You mention social media and religion, but these points are not fully explored or supported with clear examples. The conclusion is incomplete, trailing off mid-sentence, which prevents a clear summary of your position. To improve, ensure you provide a structured introduction, two distinct body paragraphs with clear topic sentences and supporting evidence, and a finished conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear logical progression. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the ideas within the paragraphs are often disjointed and repetitive. Cohesive devices are used very sparingly and sometimes incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'Which gives a negative impact' to start sentences. Referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow your train of thought. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea that flows naturally into the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'people', 'society', and 'fashion trend' without demonstrating a range of synonyms or more sophisticated collocations. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'people of the society is very cooked', which is non-standard and confusing. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'consumerism', 'cultural identity', 'globalization', or 'conformity'. Expanding your range of adjectives and adverbs will also help you express your opinions with more nuance and clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people... is', 'people... follows'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragments or run-on sentences, such as 'Which gives a negative impact on the people and the development of the society.' The range of structures is very limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and practice combining simple ideas into complex sentences using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions.
