Student answer (Band 5.5)
Global fashion has a significant influence on people's lives, whether they are actively following the trends or don't have a clue about it, but in reality global fashion trends greatly influence not only the fashion industry but also the clothing industry or clothing market as whole in its entirety.
Global fashion changes frequently as we make more technological advancements and develop more complex and efficient production techniques, leading to new trends in the world of fashion.
From my perspective, global fashion trends have played a crucial role in the development of positive and negative developments in people's lives.
On the bright side, new trends have enabled people to feel less insecure about their shortcomings, enabling them to be confident about their strenghts, recent trends show women of various body types to wear same type of clothes which previously woulf make them face prejudice as those clothing were targeted for people of certain body types, but now thanks to this trends the this kind of prejudice is being reduced and also people are less concerned about how other people will view them and they may be treated as an anomaly.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay attempts to address both parts of the prompt—the influence of global fashion and whether it is positive or negative—the arguments are underdeveloped and the conclusion is entirely missing due to the incomplete final sentence. The discussion on body positivity is a relevant point, but the transition to the negative aspects is abrupt and lacks sufficient supporting evidence. To improve, you must ensure all parts of the prompt are fully explored and that the essay reaches the required length to allow for a comprehensive conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay shows a basic attempt at logical organization, with an introduction and body paragraphs. However, the progression of ideas is hindered by the abrupt ending. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the bright side' and 'But there is always two sides of a coin', but these are somewhat mechanical. Paragraphing is present, but the lack of a concluding paragraph makes the overall structure feel incomplete. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words to connect sentences more fluidly and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by well-developed supporting points.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of repetitive phrasing, such as the repeated use of 'global fashion trends' and 'people's lives'. Some word choices are slightly awkward, such as 'clothing market as whole in its entirety', which is redundant. There are also spelling errors like 'confidnet', 'tatoos', and 'percings'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and ensure accurate spelling of common terms. Focus on using collocations more naturally to express your ideas with greater clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. For example, 'recent trends show women of various body types to wear same type of clothes' is grammatically incorrect, and 'those clothing were targeted' should be 'those clothes were targeted'. There are also issues with punctuation and sentence fragments, particularly in the final paragraph. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Proofreading for basic sentence structure errors will help you achieve a higher level of accuracy.
