Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you address both parts of the prompt—explaining the influence of global fashion and stating your opinion—the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence. The discussion on why fashion is influential is superficial, and the points regarding safety and social inequality are presented as assertions rather than well-reasoned arguments. To improve, you must expand your points with specific examples and ensure you meet the minimum length to allow for a full exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'In old time' and 'In today time'. Transitions between ideas are often abrupt, making the flow of the argument difficult to follow. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the final paragraph where the connection between the conclusion and the previous arguments is disjointed. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would greatly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'clothes', 'people', and 'good'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'not cover their whole body to wearing clothes' and 'aproprite clothes'. You struggle to use less common vocabulary, and the lack of precision in your word choice often makes your meaning unclear. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning synonyms for common words and practicing the correct usage of adjectives and nouns in context to express your ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people fashion of clothes are changed'), article usage, and sentence structure. You rely almost exclusively on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are often marred by errors, such as 'wearing trending clothes are good but they create also for poor people new design'. Punctuation is also inconsistent. You need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense consistency and pluralization.
