Student answer (Band 6.0)
Global fashion is so much influential because of social media, celebrity influences, fashion influencers, global brands, online shopping, international advertising, cultural exchange, fast fashion, affordable clothing, peer pressure, changing lifestyles
and global connectivity. In my perspective, many people are influenced by today modern fashion trends and designs.
It has become become such a big and stronger influencer in peoples live in a positive way such as it provides greater variety, online availibility, promotes cultural change and affordable options. It fosters creative platforms, personal confidence and greater economic opportunities, more fashion accessibility for young generations which make their lives more flexible and easier than before. For example, new fashion has changed the perspectives of young generation of wearing clothes as they can wear that simple scarf as top shirt named as fashionable shirt. As a result people don't have to spend more. Even this year the miss universe most popular fashion show was a woman named as Roma micheal was from Pakistan which altered the point of view about fashion of many people living in my country.
Modern fashion have also negatively influenced the lifestyle of people to some extent. People has lost their cultural identity, traditional wearables which promotes to consumerism and excessive spending on simple things. For example a small lawn fabric shirt was low priced which rose with little bit change in its design named it as fashion is now allocated to high cost due to which their sale ratio has been reduced. It results in unrealistic standards and materialistic attitudes.
In conclusion, global fashion has brought greater choices and encouraged self expression, I believe its negative effects, particularly consumerism and the erosion of cultural identity, make it a largely negative development.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the causes of global fashion influence and your opinion on whether it is a positive or negative development. You provide a clear position in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The list of causes in the introduction is a bit mechanical, and the explanation of the 'Miss Universe' example is slightly unclear in its connection to the broader argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting example is fully explained and directly linked to the main point of the paragraph, rather than just stating the example.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'For example' and 'In conclusion', to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the first paragraph, which reads like a list of nouns rather than a cohesive introduction. Additionally, some transitions are repetitive or slightly mechanical. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is clearly signaled to create a smoother, more natural progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'cultural identity', 'consumerism', and 'materialistic attitudes'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'so much influential' instead of 'highly influential' and 'peoples live' instead of 'people's lives'. Some phrasing is also slightly unnatural, such as 'simple lawn fabric shirt was low priced which rose with little bit change'. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise collocations and focusing on accurate word forms will help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Modern fashion have', 'People has lost') and punctuation errors. Some sentences are also slightly fragmented or run-on. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules such as pluralization and verb agreement. Incorporating more complex structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, while ensuring they remain error-free, would significantly enhance your score in this criterion.
