Student answer (Band 5.0)
As many aspects of the way people dress today are influenced by global fashion trends.
And in this we will discuss that how the global fashion has such a strong influence on people's life, is this a positive or negative development.
In my point if view this is a negative development because today there are many weird type of fashion trends that people are following now days. They lack modesty in their fashion sense. People make trend of any type of worsen thing and start wearing them and people out of nowhere start following them considering it a fashion. For example now a days people design dresses from shoppers, mud and stones like recently met gala people wear dresses made of mud which they there own find difficult to handle than during walking. people now design dresses which doesn't cover their full body, they are half nude. People make fashion worse sometimes which is inevitable. Geniunely fashion is something that should be decent on the other side people should also be aware o what they are following despite of fashion.
In conclusion I would say that it might have both positive and negative development , it depends on us that which type of fashion we follow, but according to todays fashion trends people just follow what they find attractive without thinking much which is a negative development, and lack modesty and lose people confidence to believe in their choices and to think of their own, which is not a good thing.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the influence of global fashion and expressing a clear negative stance. However, the development of ideas is limited. The explanation for why fashion has become influential is underdeveloped, relying on vague assertions rather than exploring factors like social media or globalization. The examples provided, such as the Met Gala, are somewhat anecdotal and do not fully support the argument regarding the broader societal impact. The response would benefit from more sophisticated reasoning and a more balanced exploration of the topic to move beyond a surface-level critique.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into three short paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The introduction is repetitive and lacks a clear thesis statement. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical and sometimes inaccurate way, such as 'And in this we will discuss' and 'on the other side'. Paragraphing is present but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks flow, making the transition between ideas feel disjointed. The conclusion attempts to summarize the argument but introduces new ideas rather than synthesizing the previous points effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'weird type of fashion trends', 'worsen thing', and 'shoppers' (likely meaning plastic bags). The student struggles to use precise terminology to describe fashion or societal trends. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the frequent errors in collocation and word formation prevent the response from reaching a higher band. More academic vocabulary related to culture, influence, and societal norms is needed.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement, sentence fragments, and incorrect punctuation. For example, 'As many aspects of the way people dress today are influenced by global fashion trends' is a dependent clause used as a complete sentence. There are also errors with articles and pluralization, such as 'people out of nowhere start following them'. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple or poorly constructed complex sentences. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding of the intended meaning.
