Student answer (Band 5.0)
In some past years, the life with limited sources has changed in a modern way. Today, life is more advanced than before with the help of modern technology and a digital world. Today people are more conscious and informative. Thus, the modern world has changed the people and societies where they live. It also effect the lifestyle of people, this change occur throughly via global fashion.
Global fashion not only influence the people lifestyle, but also in aspect of thinking skill. It admire the people to become more confident. For example, the way you think, what you wear on different occasions, it is all about how you present yourself to others.
I think global fashion is a positive development in today modern world. However, through the global fashion people prefer to become more descent, and as simply as they feel. It influence the people to become more confident, and encourage them to seeing truely as they are.
Admittedly, it has a positive affect among people all around the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 169 words. This significantly limits the development of your ideas. While you address both parts of the prompt—explaining the influence of global fashion and providing an opinion—the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting examples. The points made about 'thinking skills' and 'confidence' are mentioned but not explored in depth. To improve, you must expand your paragraphs with specific, detailed examples and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a full discussion of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay has a basic structure with an introduction and body paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Thus' and 'For example', the transitions between sentences are often mechanical or abrupt. The paragraphing is present, but the ideas within the paragraphs are not logically linked to form a cohesive argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly relates to your main argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band score. You rely on simple, repetitive language such as 'modern world' and 'people'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'admire the people' (likely meaning 'inspires' or 'encourages') and 'become more descent' (likely meaning 'decent'). To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary and collocations related to fashion and social trends, and pay closer attention to the correct usage of words in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'In some past years, the life with limited sources has changed' (awkward phrasing), 'It also effect the lifestyle' (should be 'affects'), and 'encourage them to seeing truely' (should be 'to see truly'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence structure is often repetitive. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, correct verb forms, and using a wider variety of complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
