Student answer (Band 6.0)
People's sense of clothing nowadays is influenced by global fashion trends in many ways. The reason behind this global trend is the easy access to social media platforms which attracts a lot of people. I strongly believe that this is a positive growth because it creates new business ideas.
As this is the age of globalization, social media platforms have connected every part of the world which shares fashion trends and patters through platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok and so on with each other and creates a great influence on people's lives. There are multiple choices of a dress with a wide range of pricing options online now as people can easily look it up. Moreover, more people have a platform now to display their creativity as a form of business worldwide. Since these platforms don't have any location limitations, people enjoy numerous fashion alternatives and get influenced by it easily. For example, South Indian wedding outfits are now followed in most Bengali engagement ceremonies by the bride as global fashion is easily available today.
I think this is a positive thing because it is influencing a lot of new business initiatives worldwide regardless of the size. The import-export business has boomed in last decades as the demand for western fashion has increased significantly. Furthermore, businesses are getting inspirations from overseas fashion industries which results in productions of new garments items and more. Many young people are starting businesses online by identifying gaps in the local fashion sectors which subsequently improves a nation's overall GDP. For instance, winter wears in Bangladesh were very limited in different styles but now there are multiple firms that produce various designs of winter collections which definitely is a positive progress for businesses.
In conclusion, the global fashion trends have been heavily influenced by the easy access to social media and that is a positive growth indicator because it identifies new business endeavors.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the influence of social media on fashion and the evaluation of this trend as positive. The position is clear throughout. The ideas are relevant, particularly the link between global trends and local business growth. However, the development is somewhat repetitive; the argument regarding business initiatives is mentioned in both the introduction and the second body paragraph. To reach a higher band, you could explore other positive aspects, such as cultural exchange or self-expression, to provide a more comprehensive discussion. The examples provided, such as the South Indian wedding outfits in Bangladesh, are relevant and effectively support your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main points. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition from discussing social media platforms to business creativity in the first body paragraph is a bit abrupt. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences could be better linked to improve the overall cohesion of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'globalization', 'initiatives', and 'endeavors'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'positive growth' (which is usually used for economic metrics rather than a development) and 'productions of new garments items' (which is grammatically awkward). You attempt to use less common vocabulary, which is good, but some collocations are slightly unnatural. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure that your word forms are consistently accurate throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully use complex sentences, there are recurring grammatical errors. For example, 'The import-export business has boomed in last decades' (missing 'the'), 'a dress' (when referring to clothing in general, 'clothing' or 'outfits' is better), and 'garments items' (should be 'garment items' or 'garments'). Punctuation is generally correct, but there are occasional slips. The majority of your sentences are clear, and errors do not impede communication, but more consistent control over articles and pluralization is needed to reach a higher band.
