Student answer (Band 5.0)
IT IS OFTEN ARGUED THAT FASHION TREND HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY COMMON IN MODERN SOCIETY.WHILE SOME PEOPLE CONSIDER TO THIS AA POSITIVE DEVELOPMENT, I BELIEVE THAT IT IS A NEGATIVE DEVELOPMENT OVERALL.
OUT OF ALL THE ARGUMENT, MY FOREMOST REASON TO SUPPORT MY OPINION IS THAT MOST OF THE PEOPLE FORGET ABOUT THEIR CULTURE AND THEIR LIVEING STYLE. MOREOVER, CURRENT GENERATION INFUENCED BY MANY FAMOUSE CELEBRITIES AND THEIR NEW SETTING TRENDS. REPRESNT OUR CULTURE AND PROTECT IT ONLY THING WHICH MAKE US UNIQUE. FOR EXAMPLE IN KOREAN YONGER PEOPLE CAN NOT DRINK INFRONT OF THEIR OLDER. IT SHOWS RESPECT AND HOW TO TREAT OLDER PEOPLE INFRONT OF THEM. TODAYS CHILDREN FORGET HOW TO GIVE RESPECT OLDER ONES JUST TO FOLLOW TRENDS.
FURTHERMORE, NOW A DAYS CELEBRITIES WEAR SUCH A VULGAR DRESSES AND CALLED IT FASHION. CHILDREN WATCH THEM AND BELIEVE IT IS NORMAL DUE TO THAT RAP CASES GRADUALLY INCREASE COMPARED WITH PREVIOS YEARS. NOT ONLY CELEBRITIES BUT ALSO SOCIAL MEDIA ALSO INFLUENCED VERY WRONG WAYS. SOME COMPANIES COLLAB WITH WELL KNOW CREATORS TO GRAB AUDIANCE. AND INFUENCER MAKE COMPARISION VEDIOS TO CREAT FAKE ENVIORMENT SO MORE PUBLIC BUY THAT PRODUCT.
IN CONCLUSION, I BELEIVE THAT UNNIVERSAL TREND GRAB A ATTION IN MORE NEGATIVE WAY THAN THE POSITIVE. IN ADDITION, PEOPLE DO NOT FORGET THEIR ROOTS AND OPEN THEIR MIND RATHER THAN JUST ACCEPTING THE TRENDS.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, but the development of ideas is limited. While you state that global fashion is a negative development, the arguments regarding cultural loss and the link between fashion and crime are under-developed and lack logical depth. The essay is also 25 words under the 250-word minimum, which significantly impacts the ability to fully explore the topic. To improve, you should expand on your examples and ensure each paragraph provides a clear, well-supported argument that directly answers the 'how' and 'why' of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate (e.g., 'Out of all the argument', 'Due to that'). The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition from cultural respect to the influence of celebrities is abrupt. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each sentence flows logically from the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'liveing', 'famouse', 'infuenced', 'vedios', and 'unniversal'. These errors occasionally make it difficult for the reader to grasp your intended meaning. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use less common lexical items accurately. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common words and try to incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary related to sociology or fashion trends.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('influencer make comparison'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures ('Children watch them and believe it is normal due to that rap cases gradually increase'). While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often faulty, which can impede communication. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing after periods. You need to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading to eliminate these frequent errors.
