Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is an undeniable fact that youth are largely attracted towards global fashion trends. Some people deem that, while some people think that public is influenced by global fashion trends. According to my perspective, it has mix development but the negative development outshines the positive. In the below paragraphs, I would like to put forth my views with valid opinion in the conclusion.
To begin with, in this modern Genz world people are much more influenced by global fashion trends. Additionally, social media and hollywood trends are the major reason for that. People use to wear normal jeans tshirt but now the trend has changed they wear oversize clothes, baggy pants and also korean pants. Futhermore, this have high comfort than the traditional ones. Global fashion has become a strong influence on people lifestyle as they tends to wear that.
However, we seldom give a thought to ponder over the other side of the story the negative part of global fashion. Another major negative effect is that people are gradually forgetting their traditional clothes because of global fashion. For example, in India, people used to wear traditional clothes such as sarees, dhotis, kurtas and pitambar on many occasions, but nowadays many young people prefer western and international fashion. As a result, traditional clothing and local clothing businesses can suffer because people are more interested in foreign brands and modern trends. Moreover, global fashion can make people spend more money on clothes simply to follow new trends. They may buy new clothes even when their old clothes are still useful. This can also increase unnecessary waste and create environmental problems.
In conclusion, global fashion has become a strong influence because of social media, celebrities and international brands. Although it provides people with more choices and comfortable clothes, I believe that its negative effects are greater because it can reduce the importance of traditional clothing, affect local clothing businesses and encourage unnecessary consumption.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the influence of global fashion and the evaluation of whether this is a positive or negative development. The position is clear from the introduction, and the arguments regarding social media, cultural erosion, and environmental impact are relevant. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why global fashion is a 'strong influence' relies heavily on listing examples rather than deep analysis. While the task is addressed, the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with,' 'However,' and 'In conclusion,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In the below paragraphs, I would like to put forth my views with valid opinion in the conclusion.' Additionally, there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, particularly in the first paragraph. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure could benefit from more sophisticated linking words to improve the flow of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'traditional clothing,' 'international brands,' and 'unnecessary consumption.' However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'mix development' instead of 'mixed development' and 'youth are largely attracted towards' instead of 'attracted to.' The vocabulary is functional but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the quality of the writing. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('as they tends to wear,' 'this have high comfort') and awkward phrasing ('Some people deem that, while some people think that public is influenced'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the sentence structure is often repetitive. The errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score.
