Student answer (Band 6.0)
Global fashion has always been regarded as one of the most important aspects of modern society contributing to social, emotional and economic development. However, different perspectives exist on this matter, I firmly believe that a balanced and sustainable approach is essential to maximize the benefits and minimizing the negative consequences for our society and well-being.
On the one hand, supporters of global fashion argue that a well dressed personality attracts a lot of benefits not only on workplace but also in social circle. We should follow global fashion in our dressing to compete with international dressing standards. For example, politicians have to dress up according to global fashion in international meetings as this affects individual personality as well as national identity. Moreover, with social media development, our current generation feel pleasure to pursue global trends in every field of life including dressing sense. It is essential for celebrities to follow global trends in dressing otherwise they become obsolete. Consequently, many experts have regarded that we should present us in global fashion dressing to feel confident in international events for future social success.
On the other hand, advocates of negative aspect of global fashion contend that by strictly following global fashion, we will lose our cultural identity. Dress is not only to cover our body but also show our religious and cultural identity. For example, in Indo-Pak, the public mostly wearing european dresses.
In conclusion, Overall, it is a positive development. Although both viewpoints possess considerable merits, I remain convinced that we should follow global fashion where required while conserving our cultural identity because it is very necessary to follow the world for international development in every field of life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the influence of global fashion and the evaluation of whether this is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'international dressing standards' for politicians is a bit narrow, and the counter-argument about cultural identity is underdeveloped, lacking specific examples beyond a brief mention of 'Indo-Pak'. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band. The conclusion is slightly repetitive, restating the position in a way that does not fully synthesize the preceding points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'Consequently', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. There is a minor issue with referencing and flow; for example, the sentence 'In conclusion, Overall, it is a positive development' is redundant. Additionally, the link between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. Overall, the logical flow is sufficient, but the use of cohesive devices lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'obsolete' and 'sustainable approach'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and collocation errors, such as 'present us in global fashion dressing' and 'advocates of negative aspect'. These errors do not impede communication, but they highlight a limitation in precision. To improve, the student should focus on more natural collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing like 'dressing sense' or 'dressing up'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'I firmly believe... I remain convinced' (comma splice in the introduction), 'our current generation feel pleasure' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'the public mostly wearing european dresses' (fragment/missing auxiliary verb). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the student attempts complex sentences, the frequency of errors prevents the writing from being considered highly accurate. A focus on subject-verb agreement and sentence boundaries would be beneficial.
