Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, the impact global fashion trends has become a subject of considerable debate. While some people argue that, it is preferable to follow the fashion updates others believe that its disadvantages outweigh the advantages. This essay will examine both perspectives before explaining why I agree with picking our own proper clothes to blindly run after the trend.
One compelling argument in favor of choosing what to wear according to the current fashion trend is that some workplaces may choose employers based on how presentable they look like. This is largely because some places require to present a certain image for themselves. In other words, a candidate with a style from the seventies may be rejected for another that is aware of the current trends. For example, in some job positions such as sales representatives, proper outfits may have an impact on the client decision. As a result, companies would put employers appearance into consideration.
Another significant consideration is that coping with each and every slight change in fashion may result in causing some financial issues for individuals. This can be attributed to the fact that keeping up with the annual or even seasonal fashion updates requier a huge budget. Furthermore, people can get exposed to a stress of being part of the majority by putting on costumes that doesn't match their preferances. A clear example of this can be seen in school uniforms that unify the students by obligating them to wear the same color. Consequently, some of them face bullying.
In conclusion, both perspectives have valid points; however, I remain convinced that each society has its culture that can affect what is accepted to wear and what is not. Finally I recommend people to choose what is convinent for themselves, and always choose something that makes them comfortable.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the influence of global fashion and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The first body paragraph focuses on professional image, which is relevant, but the second paragraph shifts to financial issues and school uniforms, which feels slightly disconnected from the main theme of 'global fashion trends.' While your position is clear, the argument regarding school uniforms is not fully linked to the influence of global trends, making the development feel a bit disjointed. To improve, ensure every supporting point directly reinforces your stance on global fashion's impact.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and you use cohesive devices such as 'In other words,' 'For example,' and 'Consequently' to connect ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical. For instance, the transition between the discussion of job interviews and the financial burden of fashion is abrupt. Additionally, the concluding paragraph introduces a new idea about 'society and culture' that was not previously discussed, which weakens the logical progression of your argument. Improving the use of referencing and ensuring that the conclusion only summarizes points already made would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using phrases like 'compelling argument,' 'considerable debate,' and 'blindly run after.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'choose employers' (should be 'choose employees') and 'put employers appearance into consideration' (should be 'take employees' appearance into consideration'). There are also minor errors like 'requier' (spelling) and 'preferances' (spelling). While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on precise collocations and proofreading for spelling will help improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this level. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'the impact global fashion trends has' (missing 'of'), 'look like' (redundant), and 'costumes that doesn't match' (subject-verb agreement error). Additionally, some phrasing is slightly awkward, such as 'run after the trend.' While you attempt complex structures, the frequency of these errors is noticeable. To reach a higher band, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions to ensure your complex sentences are error-free.
