Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, individuals influenced by their favorite personalities and dressed like that is common worldwide practice. I think this is positive development to some extent.
The world has become a global village, the technology has changed the conventional trends and has a positive impact on the public life. In todays era, everyone follows their dream personalities trend and want to look like them. For instance, when people saw their most-liked persons on the social media promoting some clothes of new brand, public will also buy similar items from that particular brand. This is because of the obsession that people have with their favorite one.
Moreover, when some brand introduces new technology or something new it hires the actors and influencers for their advertisements, as they know people will buy more when they saw there preferred one using the same product. Such as, when iphone launches its new model and some new updates. They pay to actors and most-liked personalities to promote their products. In addition, its has positive impact on society, as the competition rise between various companies to develop and make better quality product with affordable price range for its customers.
On the other hand, it has also some negative development, as when they buy the same product which they saw on social media. When they ordered that item, they didn't get the desire one, they received the low quality product.
In conclusion, the global fashion has positive development for society, as companies make the good quality products with affordable prices, also new business and job opportunities developed.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the influence of global fashion and whether it is a positive or negative development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention social media and celebrity endorsements, the explanation of why this is a 'positive development' is repetitive, focusing heavily on corporate competition rather than the broader societal impact. The negative aspect is introduced briefly but lacks depth, as the example regarding low-quality products is not fully connected to the broader theme of global fashion trends. To improve, ensure each paragraph provides a clear, well-supported argument that directly answers the 'how' and 'why' components of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'Such as' is used incorrectly at the start of a sentence, and 'On the other hand' is used to introduce a point that is not clearly contrasted with the previous paragraph. Additionally, some sentences lack logical flow, such as the opening sentence which is grammatically fragmented. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') would help create a smoother progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on repetitive phrases like 'positive development' and 'most-liked persons'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'dream personalities trend' and 'public life'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or topic-specific vocabulary limits the score. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and demonstrate a more flexible command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'competition rise', 'iphone launches'), article usage (e.g., 'the iphone'), and tense consistency. Some sentences, such as 'Nowadays, individuals influenced by their favorite personalities and dressed like that is common worldwide practice', are structurally confused. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher level of accuracy. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
