Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the influence of social media/cultural exchange and the positive/negative nature of this trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention that global fashion is a positive development, the explanation remains repetitive, focusing on 'strong bonds' and 'learning lifestyles' without providing concrete, well-explained examples. The mention of negative impacts is brief and lacks sufficient elaboration to balance the argument. To improve, ensure each main idea is supported by a specific, detailed example rather than general statements. The position is clear, but the depth of analysis needs to be increased to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices such as 'The primary factor', 'The second major factor', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'it exchange the culture'). The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different stages of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on repetitive phrasing such as 'positive development' and 'global fashion trends'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'strong viral' instead of 'strong influence' and 'dress-up' instead of 'styles' or 'attire'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of errors in word formation (e.g., 'youngster's' used as a plural noun) limit the score. Focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic terminology.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'all the world are running'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'by the help of online platform this trends are more over popular'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors with apostrophes (e.g., 'youngster's'). To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy is essential for a higher band.
