Student answer (Band 5.5)
The dressing sense in individuals is very dynamic . It keeps changing with time, in recent times people are influenced by the global fashion trends. Everybody is now on social media, and they also follow the fashion which is trending to not feel the feeling of fear of moving out. Global fashion has created a strong influence on people's lives.
In my opinion, it is a positive development for many individuals. There are variety of clothes in fashion in this era, but fashion was very simple at the previous times. The retailers who sell garments are very happy because of global fashion trends. The more new fashion will come the more people will buy clothes and this will lead to the profits to them and also to the manufacturer of clothes. For instance- in 19th century people usually buys clothes and then used it for almost 6 months, but now due to dynamic fashion trends people buy new pair of clothes within 2 to 3 months gap.
Poor people also get benefits from this as people will have a dozens of clothes which is out of fashion so they will just throw it away or donate it to poor people. There are some negetive developments also due to this. The more clothes are being produced the more it is requiring the material, the extraction of material from the nature is causing very much harm to the environment.
In conclusion, despite the harms to the environment individuals will not stop buying new fashion clothes because of the feeling of not connecting with the society. This creates a positive development to the clothing markets.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the influence of global fashion and whether this is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention social media and economic benefits, the arguments lack depth. For instance, the point about donating clothes to the poor is a bit simplistic and does not fully explore the complexity of the 'positive' development. To reach a higher band, ensure that each main idea is supported by a more detailed explanation or a more sophisticated example. The position is clear, but the overall analysis remains at a basic level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. Phrases like 'In my opinion' and 'In conclusion' are standard, but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are sometimes abrupt. For example, the jump from the economic benefits of fashion to the environmental impact is quite sudden. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'very dynamic', 'very happy', and 'very much harm'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'feeling of fear of moving out' and 'the more new fashion will come'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary and precise collocations. For example, instead of 'very much harm', use 'significant environmental degradation'. Expanding your range of synonyms and using more sophisticated phrasing will help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'There are variety of clothes', 'at the previous times', and 'it is requiring the material'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. While your meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralization and verb tenses, to ensure your complex sentences are constructed correctly.
