Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is widely argued that the way people dressed today is strongly influenced by global fashion trends. In my opinion, this is the negative development, because it will create unnecessary pressure to follow trends and excessive spending.
On the one hand, to follow global fashion trends create unnecessary pressure on the peers which will create unusual gap between generation. Moreover, individual get influenced about these trends by following celebrities on social platforms and always tried to copy them. therefore, it will produce excessive thinking about fashion and latest trends. for instance, children getting more influenced by these online fashion and influencer because of using social media and online shopping application.
On the other hand, In the race to follow fashion trends people spend more to just match their outfits with those influencers and just to upload photos on social media platforms. therefore, this will create unavoidable spending and financial pressure. Sometime to just follow online fashion people spend more than they afford, use credit card and take on debt for purchasing new fastest things. For example, they will just use those clothes for once just for making videos after that they will not use them again.
In conclusion, although follow global fashion trends make people to get new opportunities to explore new styles. I believe it will impact negative on their lives because it will generate pressure to follow lasts fashion which lead to excessive spending and financial difficulties.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying the influence of social media and celebrities, and arguing that the development is negative. However, the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the depth of development. While the position is clear, the arguments regarding 'unusual gap between generations' and 'excessive thinking' are somewhat underdeveloped and lack specific, nuanced explanation. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed examples and ensure the essay meets the minimum length requirement to allow for full task coverage.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'therefore' and 'just'. Paragraphing is present, but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that referencing (e.g., 'these trends') is always clear and precise.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. You rely on basic terms like 'unnecessary pressure', 'excessive spending', and 'new opportunities'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'unavoidable spending' (which is not quite the right collocation) and 'fastest things' (which is unclear). To achieve a higher score, you should aim to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'consumerism', 'societal pressure', or 'financial strain', and work on more natural collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede flow. Examples include 'the way people dressed today is' (tense inconsistency), 'individual get influenced' (subject-verb agreement), and 'although follow global fashion trends make people' (incorrect verb form). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several sentences starting with lowercase letters. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and verb tense consistency.
