Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the modern era, the fashion industry has become increasingly globalized, allowing trends to spread rapidly across borders. While the many aspects of the way people dress today are influenced by global fashion trend. I strongly believe that this is a fully positive development because of its economic benefits and culture exchange.
The main reason global fashion represent a positive development is due to its culture exchange. Nowadays, technology are developing more and more which helps people in knowing about different culture and dress through the social media influencer. People can experienced different culture through dress which can be buy in local shops or online shopping. For example, if a resident from the UK orders Nepali dress from online and wear it, they will know get a change to experienced a new culture in a affordable price from online. This helps them to know about the Nepali culture.
Another reason is economic benefits. People can sell dress in online with the help of social media which also create job opportunities for others and also for local people. People get employment at manufacturing, marketing, production and in several factors. It is also chain globally so it makes easy to generate income. For instance, people get chance to work in manufacturing area if they have idea or if they want to learn they can by selling the product in online.
In conclusion, in the modern era, the positive development of global fashion trend offers the culture exchange and economy growth with the opportunities of employment for people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the influence of global fashion and whether it is a positive or negative development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention cultural exchange and economic benefits, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the example of a UK resident buying a Nepali dress is a good start, but the explanation of how this specifically influences 'people's lives' globally remains superficial. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph provides a more nuanced analysis rather than repeating the same points about social media and online shopping.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'The main reason', 'Another reason', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear or repetitive. For example, the transition between the idea of technology and the specific example of the Nepali dress could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'dress' (used as a noun for clothing, which is often better expressed as 'clothing' or 'garments') and 'good/positive'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'culture exchange' instead of 'cultural exchange' and 'in a affordable price' instead of 'at an affordable price'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to globalization, economics, and sociology.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'technology are developing', 'global fashion represent'), article usage, and verb forms (e.g., 'can experienced', 'will know get a change'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. Increasing the accuracy of basic grammar and ensuring consistent verb tense usage will significantly improve your score.
