Many aspects of the way people dress today are influenced by global fashion trends. How has global fashion become such a strong influence on people's lives? Do you think this is a positive or negative development? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Answer:
In the modern society, fashion has gone global, as a lots of people are influenced by universal trends. Though it has some positive development, negative aspects are more which make it negative progress.
One major positive development of global fashion is that people can be updated with new styles. Individuals dressing with global trends can make them feel connected with the people and make them more advance on looks and fashion. Moreover, people are introducing new dresses frequently. People might get bored and tired of old fashion and when they see new trends in the global scale they may get excited and happy. Due to advancement in technology and social media people have early access to the new trends. People nowadays spend most of their time online watching reels and feeds which helps them to see new trends of fashion.
However, it has a lots of negative development too. One major effect is seen on culture too. People are prioritizing modern culture where their own cultural dresses are neglected. Some of the cultural clothes are already extinct. If people always focus on global fashion trends their own dress which makes them different from rest of the universe might get discouraged. In the past, our dress were made according to the weather, culture and atmosphere, for example people who live in warm and hot regions wear more light and soft clothes. Their clothes were designed to tolerate heat and to keep their body cool.
In conclusion, people should not only be up to date with new trends but also should carry their old clothing history so that it does not go extinct.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the influence of global fashion and the evaluation of whether this is positive or negative. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social media and technology as drivers of influence, the explanation of the 'negative' aspect regarding cultural extinction is a bit repetitive and lacks specific examples beyond general statements about clothing design. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more nuanced reasoning or concrete examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'However', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel a bit abrupt. The referencing is generally clear, but the progression of ideas within the second paragraph could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence builds logically on the previous one would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'universal trends', 'extinct', and 'advancement'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'make them more advance on looks' and 'a lots of negative development'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your expression. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more topic-specific terminology related to globalization and cultural identity would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'a lots of people' (should be 'a lot of' or 'many'), 'our dress were' (subject-verb agreement), and 'make them more advance' (should be 'advanced'). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your argument. To achieve a higher score, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately without minor slips.
