Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying social media and influencers as key drivers and discussing both positive and negative aspects. However, the development of ideas is limited. The explanation of how fashion influences lives is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth, relying on general statements rather than specific, well-supported arguments. The position is clear, but the supporting examples are underdeveloped. To improve, you should aim to provide more detailed explanations for your points, ensuring that each paragraph contributes clearly to your overall argument rather than just listing observations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the awkward transition 'Then our country side or other people of dissimilar region'. Some sentences lack logical flow, making it difficult to follow the progression of ideas. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the connection between sentences within paragraphs could be strengthened to improve the overall coherence. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in the correct context would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'huge amount of citizen' (should be 'large numbers of people') and 'office timing' (should be 'workplace'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on basic phrasing. To achieve a higher score, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and collocations that are appropriate for a formal essay, while also ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'It is often claim'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. For example, 'the teenager and undergraduate follow' should be pluralized, and 'a person can change his fashion' is grammatically awkward. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage would be a beneficial first step.
