Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 191 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address both parts of the prompt—the influence of global fashion and whether it is positive or negative—the arguments are underdeveloped and lack specific examples or logical depth. The position is unclear, as the text oscillates between points without providing a coherent argument. To improve, you must expand your points with detailed explanations and relevant examples, ensuring you meet the length requirement to allow for full task completion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no paragraphing, and the flow of ideas is disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow your argument. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'In some countries' and 'But'. The lack of logical progression between sentences means that the essay feels like a collection of loosely related statements rather than a cohesive argument. To improve, you should use clear paragraphing—one for the introduction, one for each main body point, and one for the conclusion—and use a wider variety of linking words like 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'however'.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'dress', 'good', and 'different', which restricts your ability to express complex ideas about fashion and society. There are also frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'fully upgrade living style' and 'not good for it to wear a better person', which impede clarity. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to fashion, consumerism, and social influence, and focus on using words in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often make the meaning unclear. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'dressing are influenced'), incorrect sentence structures, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'Many of it could be attracted by him'). The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and pluralization. You should also practice using complex sentences with subordinating conjunctions to improve your grammatical range.
