Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the influence of global fashion and the evaluation of this trend. The position is clear, arguing that global fashion is a positive development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social media and TV as drivers, the explanation of how these influence lives is a bit superficial. The examples provided, such as South Asians adopting formal clothing, are relevant but could be expanded to better illustrate the 'how' and 'why'. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully explored with more depth and specific reasoning rather than relying on general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Meanwhile', and 'In addition', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced, such as the use of 'Whereas' at the start of the third sentence, which does not function correctly as a connector here. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the link between 'fitting into a society' and 'future strength of friendship' is somewhat tenuous. Improving the flow between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'innovative', 'cultral attires', and 'self-esteem'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'youngster' (should be 'youngsters'), 'sepcially', 'fundmentally', 'similiar', 'perosnal', and 'imapct'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on using a wider range of precise vocabulary and ensure careful proofreading to eliminate basic spelling mistakes. Using more sophisticated collocations would also help elevate your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'Most youngster finds it amusing' (subject-verb agreement) and 'many southasian has followed' (pluralization). There are also issues with article usage and prepositional phrases. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent pluralization, and try to incorporate more varied complex structures with greater accuracy.
